- Perplexity has added AI image generation to its platform

AI converted search engine perplexity can now add some AI views to your answer. And if those images look a lot such as what the chatgate will do, it is, because they use the same model.
If you are unrelated, the left image was produced using perplexity, while the right was created by a chat on the right, both with the same signal. It is like an AI Ghost Writer, but for the fantasy landscape with a dragon instead of the legal thriller sold in an airport.
Perplexity quietly added the feature on its web platform this week, which offers three image generations per day for free users and unlimited generations for Perplexity Pro users. It is very straight to use it.
Like with chats, you just have to ask AI to use the same language to create an image of “something” or to set a prompt.
Do not worry if you do not have a model (officially GPT-4.1), the model is chosen from the list of options; Perplexity will use it to automatically produce the scene. This is likely because none of other models will make a picture at this time.

However, it was not except for the capabilities of Perplexity announced by the company. AI Assistant added some other models to its stable.
XAI’s Grocke 3 model is now one of the options for perplexity to use in answering questions, while OPENAI’s O4-Mini model is now one of the “logic” model options.
All this fits with a perplexity approach to its AI platform. Instead of trying to make everything from scratches, the company is curing models and weaving them to streamlide access to their platform.
This is a smart play, especially given how many people want to try the AI equipment, but are not committed to only one of the many. Most people just want to ask a question from a smart machine, receive a clear answer, maybe when they are on it, see a good picture of the flying whale, and move forward with your life.
The image of Chatgpt is a good splash of color for the AI search engine besides the generator. This will probably become particularly popular once it will join Voice Assistant on Perplexity Mobile App.
