Pinterest is upgrading your visual search feature with a handful of new abilities.
On Monday, company Announced This allows users to search using an image instead of lessons to improve its convenience. This includes more accurately narrow and new equipment to refine the discoveries, as well as which make the visual search more accessible on the Pinterest website.
The company believes that new additions will help Pinterest stand out as a search engine for things that users may have trouble describing otherwise with words – such as a vibi, style, or aesthetics.
A new growth will help users understand what they like about a certain pin, initially in the fashion category of women in the US, Canada and UK

Here, when users tap on a pin, they will see an animated glow, and Pinterest will then produce words that will help people determine why they prefer PIN in the first place. The feature is powered by the Visual Language Model (VLM), which is a form of generic AI, the company says.
In addition, Google’s multimodal is similar to the discovery, which adds lessons and images to the same query. In this case, however, the Pinterest is helping users by generating words that can be used to increase and narrow their search query. (The company notes is using the “industry-multimed” multimed embeding model, but does not specify which people are.)
Another update will allow users to refine their fashion discoveries by looking for an option of items shown in a different color, style or fabric. For example, Pinterest suggests that you can use it to find a uniform style, with “Y2K” more than beauty, or get something similar to a blazer you like, but it works better for a formal opportunity.

Pinterest also says that it will expand its visual search in more areas in its app, in which users will allow a longer press on any pin on their home feed to kick visual search.
The update comes on a proclaimed heels that will begin to label the Pinterest AI-borne images and soon allow users to limit the number of AI images shown by them, after several user complaints. People started worrying that AI would ruin the pintress, as it would be even more difficult to find real images that could inspire their future purchases.
Combined with AI-centenary update and better visual discovery, Pinterest expects to re-establish its use as a visual shopping tool that takes advantage of AI, because the opposite to the one being destroyed by it.
