If you have received a pixel phone, you think Google has now pushed both Android 16 and June 2025 Pixel drop, which brings you many important new features to use. One of those new features is the Pixel VIP: it allows you to give you a very important person status in a selected number of contacts, which gives them privileges, including being able to override your active.
This helps solve the main anxiety with do not disturbs: you can remember a call or a lesson about someone important. There is always a chance that something emergency can be when you have blocked the upcoming alert, but Pixel VIP gives you a way to ensure that the most important people in your life can still achieve.
If you are not familiar, do not disturb options on a pixel, can be found by opening the main settings app, then tapping ModeThe do not disturb mode is listed with any other variations you set – for sleep or for driving, for example. Tap Do not troubleAnd you can manually turn it on or off, set it to run on a schedule, and choose which contacts, apps and alarms are allowed to override it.

You can use your VIP through contacts.

Prior to Pixel VIPs, your choice to allow communication with the do not disturbs was all your contacts, any of your contacts, or your starred contact: there was not much scope to create a customized list. Pixel VIPS improves on that, which enables you to create a new level of super-starred people with some additional features.
To start with pixel vips (if really update Has reached you), Open the contact app, switch events Tab, then tap Pixel VIPTap next On introductory blurbs, and you get to choose eight different contacts for privilege: you will see some suggestions on the screen and you can tap Add To see your full contact list.
Tap next To move forward, and then you can allow your SMS conversations, your WhatsApp chat, and your location to allow Pixel VIP feature – this information is kept private for you, and it is worth noting that your contacts will not know that you have chosen them as Pixel VIP.
When you do your work through the setup wizard, you are shown preview of Pixel VIPS Home Screen Widget. You can choose Add to Home Screen Immediately, or later press it on an empty part of the home screen, then tapping WidgetVIPS is under widget Contact Topic.
The widget will start as 4 x 1 block, but you can change the shape by tapping and holding the widget, then using the handle around the edges. You can also tap the pen icon (lower right) to return to the pixel VIPS screen for the management of contacts and permissions involved.
What do you think so far?
Tap on any contact on the widget, and you reach a special pixel VIPS page for that person. You can see your recent messages from the person, if you have chosen to share it through my device or Google Maps, and any other details, then like their birthday, you have chosen to share it through what you have stored.

Each VIP gets its own page of details.

Here is also a notes section, if you need to reduce a reminder or a memorandum about someone: Google suggests that you can put birthday gift ideas here. Even there is a box of suggestions for those things that you want to do with this person, such as watching a film or visiting a restaurant. You can get these tips on the right to the right through the slider button.
When it comes to this do not disturb settings, nothing has changed, except that pixel VIPs are automatically added to your starred contacts. Google does not really make it clear, but as far as I can tell, you still need to select your starred contacts on the real, which does not disturb the screen mentioned above – it is not enough to select only someone as Pixel VIP, but it gives you an easy way to manage this privileged list of people.
I can tell Pixel VIP a useful way to manage important contacts, and it would be good to see additional integration with more apps here – although this app also depends on the developers as well as Google. For now, it has earned a place on my home screen.
