With the new Pro Controller of Switch 2 (and new charging grip, actually), it is one of the biggest changes from its predecessor, which is the addition of ‘GL’ and GR on the back.

Now, if you are anything like us, there is a possibility that these buttons will not use too much in terms of gameplay. Certainly, maybe you can map a jump button to either of them if you are playing FPS, but is generally speaking, most games will have been adapted to good use of the standard button layout. You do not want to separate them using only standard joy-con, after all.

But the thing here is: You can map any button on ‘GL’ ad ‘GR’ – AnyEven the capture button. Ohu, yes, and what a game-changer has proved, friends! Y’See, in our opinion, the original capture button is just one touch Uncomfortable in terms of its placement on Pro Controller. It’s easy to reach us, don’t consider us wrong, but it’s just a little outside, y’Know?

Capture button either mapping on ‘GL’ or ‘GR’ (or both, if you want!) This means that you need to squeeze a little squeeze to the Pro Controller’s grip to catch those incredible on-screen moments, without taking your thumb away from analog stick or face button. In terms of muscle-mery, it seems much more natural, and can be compared to a shutter button on almost a real camera. This is quite remarkable.

Good news is also that you can relax your fingers in such a way that it still seems comfortable, yet there is no danger of accidentally killing the back button and taking a million screenshot at once. In our experience so far, we have only taken screenshots when we have consciously chosen to do so.

So if you do with those back buttons on Pro Controller or Charging Grip, you are at the loss of this, then consider one of them a capture button. This is easy to do: Catch the home button only to bring the Quick-Settings menu, then select the option to map the back button (this is based on the game-by-game, by).

For fasting games such as Street Fighter 6 or Fast Fusion, it is a life saving.
