Resident Evil Village felt like a franchise celebration, a tribute to many forms that have been taken by the series for years. From the discovery of a huge mansion to pumping a lead-filled demon in more action-oriented firefights, all this was in the village. But its dolhouse section, which developed the huge dreaded and helplessness of the resident Evil 7: Biohazard, stole the show. This specific direction, the ninth mainline game in the series, led by RE7 director Koshi Nakunishi, shapes the resident Evil Requuim. More significantly, Requiem takes players back into one of the prestigious places where all the troubles begin: Raikon City.
During the days of playing the summer game fest in Los Angeles, I saw a special hands-off presentation for the game at Capkom’s booth before closing the 30-minute demo of the same segment. As a long -time fan of the franchise, the requiem looks similar to the recent mainline entries. But after waiting for more than four years after the village, Capakom’s powerful survival horror formula did not show signs of vanning.

Requiem star Grace Ashcroft, a young FBI technical analyst and daughter of Elisa Ashcroft, a investigative reporter, who was last seen in the 2003 resident Evil outbreak. My gameplay demo begins immediately after the conclusion of the trailer. Grace, which is mysteriously caught, awakes upside down, mounted on a bed, and is quite scared to her brain. She manages to escape, but she is out of the frying pan and in the fire. Capcom tells me that Grace has very little fighter expertise, and my session has zero action. This means to rely on my intellect to escape from the Derilist Wrainwood Hotel, the site of Grace’s mother.
The game now misses in the perspective of standard first-person, but allows players to switch to the third person at any time by leging an option to the pause menu. Fans have begged to include the third-person mode in the mainline game at the time of launch for years, so I am happy to see Capkom Obiz. I played the demo using both the mode, and although Capcom label labeled the first-person as a “recommended” experience (meaning it is scary, not the gameplay is better), my time with requirement proved to be terrible regardless of my time perspective.
Opening the first door gives the way to a repressive pitch-black hallway; To tell the players this almost means to tell them that they should walk properly with the bat. Creaks and bumps increase stress because it is only difficult to guess the sound of a old old building or a sign that the grace is not alone. This is the place where the game sounds like a re7, as I collide around in dark places searching for open doors, every step stops a heart and produces cracks because I am afraid to alert whatever may happen. Despite being labeled a hotel, the vrainhood looks more like a clinic of some kind. Many rooms have hospital beds, and I find the remains of medical staff, such as messages and, more frightening, doctors bodies. I do not know what purpose is worked at this place once, and the more I seek, the more I start believing that the answer is probably not positive.
The game immediately slips into the classic RE formula, as I think there is a closed door that affects a Karub icon on the lock indicating the required key. A burnt hallway sits behind a gate operated by a fuse box, which is missing one of its fuses. I think fuse in a room, but it is closed behind a case. There is a note in another room stating that the fuse box requires a screwdriver to open it, which must be located in the nurse’s office. As I have started solving this puzzle in reverse order, finding the drawer produces objects such as health-punishment and a classic green herb. The closest thing I find for a weapon is a bottle that is used to distract the dangers instead of harassing them. But I need to lighten the first and foremost, which I soon find, which allows me to illuminate my severed environment, just a little bit.
After finding the office, Grace opens a door that causes a dead body to fall on it in my first jump. The corpse, wearing a doctor’s lab coat, looks clearly infected, although it does not stop the grace from examining her pulse and asks if she is dead in an inadvertent funny bit. Suddenly, a large mutated hand emerges from darkness to seize the body, gradually raises it towards a gray, bloodshed mawa, which once cuts a large scale of human teeth. Grace can rarely speak as a camera, to tell that I can describe the best as a huge, humanoid-like creature, who play tight brown hair, a bulbous eye, and a firing rip in the form of clothing.
Whether this creature is a pre -patient or something, it is very large, the room has barely fittings. I run for my life, and chase the animal, squeeze its large, mutated form under the narrow corridors. At one point, it catches me, a large, weak bite raises grace, requires a quick healing. I retreated in a nearby room, closed the door behind me. Eagerly, however, does not follow the monster. After waiting a minute, I carefully open the door and see to find a gapping hole above the door. So this is how this is happening around the hotel. As the creature creeps inside the roof, hanging light fixtures shakes and indicates the proximity of the demon.
Following the terrible maps of Mr. X and Lady Dimitrasku, meet the newly consistent enemies of requests. The rest of my demo is spent in an attempt to avoid and save this danger because it revives time -time, crashes through a wall at a point to cut me to cut the Jack Baker in R7. This entire sequence reminds me of the scary dolhouse section of Ri Village which is the best and most unstable methods. Silently helps me find my fuse box secretly, triggering a race at the gate with a creature in hot chase. Sadly, seeing how this chase ends, will have to wait till the entire release.

My time with Resident Evil Requuim was not no revolutionary idea or surprise; It seems familiar and terrible by the ways of loving me since 1996. The big question is the role of Grace in this story, what new threat she is facing, and when this incident occurs: are we decade-plus in the future when Resident Evil Village’s shadow of DLC was done, or a different period? I can’t wait to answer these questions and more when the resident Evil Requuim releases more on 27 February.
