When it comes to carrying cases, many people swear with ‘official’ options and good reasons; When Nintendo is tasked to make a case for its console, you will assume that the company will produce a decent product.
This is certainly true about the official nintendo switch 2 carry case ($ 39.99 / £ 20.99), which is one of the two options currently offered by Nintendo (the other is a large, an-in-one option that costs a little higher).
Described as “stylish and strong” by Nintendo, the case is definitely strong enough so that your glossy new console is strong enough to prevent bumps and scratches on the road, but it is not in the same league as the “almost indestructible” shell with the Zenki sleeper case.
It is lost out of space for only six game cards to offer Zenki (there are 18 slots in the sleeper case), although in the official NS2 case there is a small compartment to store items such as Joy-Con 2 wrist straps, which is a bonus.
It is even smaller than the Genki sleeper case, and offers a snuggle fit for your switch 2, thanks to the fact that Nintendo is not expecting you to install an additional case (eg Genki attack vector). Oh, and the zipper system is excess Easy to use, too, but it does not provide water resistance like a case of Zenki.
While Nintendo claims that this is a stylish option, I argue that it makes sense – which is not necessarily a bad thing, because many people do not want to broadcast that they are taking a game console around with them. The case has 2 people in front of the case, while the iconic logo of nintendo is found on the back. The only other design element of the note is the blue and orange zipper handle, which mimic the color accents of the left and right joy-con 2 controllers.
You also find a screen guards bundled along the case, whose installation is completely optional. I do not bother with the screen guard because I am super careful with my technology, but this is an easy bonus item if you find that you do not feel comfortable without doing a fit.
Also, there is not much to add here. This is a slimline, strong and appropriate attractive case that will not completely break the bank, and I think nintendo will sell many of them-but if you are looking for something that provides the best-in-class safety, you can look for alternative options.
