The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has been a week after the launch. But whenever the Tech World moves forward, and we are witness to the launch of Nintendo Switch 2, and the construction of WWDC 2025, it is still in place in my mind, and my colleagues to be a competent but confused equipment.
We like the Galaxy S25 edge, but all the same feel that at the end of this year iPhone 17, like the wind, can easily beat the S25 edge, as long as it is just thin, or makes a low sacrifice such as pricing or camera performance in the name of slimming things. But there is one thing that both companies could do to help, but Samsung has not done so, and I hope Apple will not either. And this is the cruelty of why I think Samsung and Apple should leave the slim phone idea for other companies.
State -of -the -art design, but familiar internal
The battery is a clear area where thin phones run in boundaries. Low internal location requires a sacrifice of battery size and capacity, and this is what we saw in our battery test of the Galaxy S25 Edge, which found that S25 Edge has a battery life between about three to four and a half hours compared to other Galaxy S25 models in the S25 Edge. Although it was not unavoidable – Samsung just required some new technology to help.
Brands such as OnePlus and Honor are launching phones with silicon-carbon battery tech-a new combination of materials for Katry that packs more power in a small area. It is ideal for slim phones such as Galaxy S25 Edge, which requires a large battery to fuel its large 6.7-inch screen, but cannot take a battery from the identity-shaped Galaxy S25 plus due to its low depth.
However, Samsung chose to stick to the S25 age with good old lithium battery. Which meant that it is terminated with a smaller capacity compared to the very small Galaxy S25, and as a result of the battery life results mentioned above.
If Samsung has not done this, then there will be no possibility of Apple
Optimally, a small battery for the rumor iPhone 17 Air will probably be less than a problem than being on the Galaxy S25 age. Apple is good in getting the most from small batteries with your in-house hardware and software, as we can see on our best phone battery life guide with iPhone 16 Pro Max. Apple’s current top iPhone stays slightly longer on the TG custom battery test compared to the iPhone Galaxy S25 Ultra, but when using 6% small battery.
But the air of the iPhone 17 will still achieve more battery life if the Apple is selected to use silicone-carbon batteries. I do not have high expectations of Apple to fulfill my wish, although given that the company is normally slower than other brands to integrate new technology in its products. Compared to the seventh generation foldables, it is expected to be launched later this year, only look at the iPhone fold, or the current deficiency of one. This really shows how the patient Apple can be about fitting new technology for his phone.
So the Slim phone battery life question is focused on the design on the design on the design on the designed performance with the Galaxy S25 Edge of the Slim phone battery life question, which is why these are the wrong two companies that are pushing this phone format forward. I don’t think the slim flagship phone is going to catch the phone until the users can still get a day’s use from their new phone.
Silicon-carbon battery technology is a clear way to fix it, and therefore respect, onePlus and other companies are already experimenting with technology. We should use this knowledge to show how slim phones should be made.
