If it is in the store for the future, there is a small taste of it, then I am on the board with the possibility of ultra thin phone. The Samsung Galaxy S25 is out of the gate with the edge, there is an incredibly diluted phone at 5.8 mm that can only be appreciated by looking at personally.
Not surprisingly, it has taken me captive because this Svelte phone is rich in characteristics that make it a worthy best phone claimant, including 200MP main camera, 6.7-inch OLED display and Snapdragon 8 Elite Chip.
But at the same time I am torn because at $ 1,099, it is infiltrating the Galaxy S25 Ultra region-so I wonder if it is worth trade with the Galaxy S25 Edge.
This is just the beginning, so it will be interesting to see how other phone makers respond to this trend. In my Galaxy S25 Edge Hands-on Review, I will tell you which features are the most standing for me and its thin construction is enough to pull me away from today’s major models.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Hands-on Review: Price and Availability
Is a thin construction warrant a heavy price point? This is the argument in the heart of the Galaxy S25 Edge, which starts at $ 1,099 for the base model with 256GB storage – or you can upgrade 512GB storage for $ 1,219.
This phone is not cheap at all and anyone will actually think about its value twice, but I cannot say whether it is worth high price until we have placed this device through its pace.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is $ 100 more than the Galaxy S25 Plus and is $ 200 less than the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
You get three color options to choose: Titanium silver, titanium jetblack, and titanium qW. Of the three, the titanium icyblue definitely stands out the most for its piercing color, but if you intend to put a case on it then it will not matter as much.
The Galaxy S25 Edge Pre-Order is still available, with Samsung to deal with $ 50 credits and upgrade the 512GB model without any additional fee. It will be widely available from Samsung and other carriers on 23 May.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Hands-on Review: Design
I have been using the Galaxy Z Fold 6 now for more than 6 months and what is interesting that it is actually the Galaxy S25 edge at 5.6 mm just thin – but when it has surfaced. When it is closed, however, the Galaxy Z folds 6 measures at 12.1 mm thick.
For a phone that it is thin and light, it still looks incredibly solid in the hand.
Size-wise, it is definitely not as long or wide as other flagship models, making it a little easier to use one hand. The Galaxy S25 against Ultra, which comes at 8.2 mm, the Galaxy S25 edge is about 31% thin.
I am actually the most amazed by weight difference between the two. The Galaxy S25 Ultra feels overweight at 7.69 ounces, while the Galaxy S25 gives the edge tips on only 5.75 ounces.
For a phone that it is thin and light, it still looks incredibly solid in the hand. It covers the performance due to its strong titanium frame and gorilla glass ceramic 2. Even with its thinness, it does not feel delicate and still receives the same IP68 ratings similar to the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
While all this Galaxy S25 Edge creates an engineering feat, I do not have the same response to other thin phones in my lifetime. Yes, it is the thinnest Galaxy S device ever, but it does not rival the feeling that I got by looking at the original Motorola Razr – or when Apple introduced the IPod Nano.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Hands-on Review: Display
The Galaxy S25 Edge has a 6.7 -inch AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution, which is actually similar to the Galaxy S25 Plus. It is a good shape, which is completed with a skinny bezel around the display and has a small notch for its selfie camera.
Samsung has not revealed for whom this panel is rated, but it packs all the properties that I like about Samsung’s display – such as wide viewing angles and piercing color.
I loaded a 4K HDR clip on YouTube and honestly looks like Galaxy S25 Ultra. It also benefits from the same adaptive 120Hz refresh rate that creates animation and scrolls with the interface so that the butter is smooth.
The true test would be how bright it becomes because the Galaxy S25 Ultra achieved the peak of 1,860 notes. Even if it does not reach the same level, it still looks great what most people will use for it.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Hands-on Review: Camera
Given how much camera I can be snob, it is going to assure me that the dual-camera setup of the Galaxy S25 Edge is quite good.
It has a 200MP main shooter added with 12MP ultravide, but Samsung does not clearly say that it is using the same accurate sensor found with the main camera of Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Zooming is all controlled by the main camera. I have seen excellent results from the phone that use pixel binning very much, so I suspect that the Galaxy S25 Edge will not disappoint in the region.
However, just knows that its maximum zoom is cap for 10x zoom (both photos and videos) – which effectively eliminates space zoom from its arsenal. Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus have 3x telephoto lenses capable of 30x zoom, while Galaxy S25 Ultra has 3x and 5x optical with 200x digital.
This is an area that I am apprehensive because it means that whenever I shoot astrophotography with Galaxy S25 Ultra, the moon shots, or a distant stars will not get the same caliber.
From the video, the S25 Edge has all the shooting modes similar to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, including manual video mode and 8K recording.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Hands-on Review: Performance
One thing I was happy to know that a Snapdragon 8 elite chip packs under the S25 Edge Hood, which is paired with 12GB RAM – such as Galaxy S25 Ultra.
This combo has already proved to be a powerhouse, so I am confident that it will give very similar results with various benchmark tests. Not only this is the thinnest flagship model around it, but it can also be one of the most powerful phones around.
But given that all its internal components are scrutinized simultaneously in such a tightly packed space, which attains its thinness, it makes heat buildup a big concern. I am very religious in playing graphically intensive game on my phone, so the last thing I want to do is that it is additional toast and potentially affecting its GPU performance.
Samsung says that the Galaxy S25 Edge actually claims a configured vapor room for this reason, which will help with its heat wastage. This is a matter of concern, compared to here, Galaxy S25 Ultra, because everything has turned into a very strict place.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Hands-on Review: Battery Life
Apart from the camera, the second area where the Galaxy S25 Edge Galaxy S25 compromises on Ultra is in the battery department. Naturally, a phone needs to give concessions somewhere to this thin – and it is in the battery, which can be a delivery for something.
Samsung claims “All-Day” battery life from this 3,900 mAh battery, but I do not think it will come close to matching the Galaxy S25 Ultra in the endurance department. This phone packs a huge 5,000 mAh battery, as with the Galaxy S25 Plus 4,900 mAh one.
I know well that Qualcomm’s chip is extremely powerful, but I can’t see any of them out in Tom’s guide battery benchmark test or I am making it in our best phone battery life list.
At the same time, Samsung capted its charging speed at 25W – which is much slower than the 45W wired speed on the Galaxy S25 Plus and the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
It all points to clarify: Galaxy S25 Edge Battery Department is not going to break the record. I know that some people are fine with it, until the battery can take them to the appropriate time.
I just do not want to run it on the vacant half path during my day.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Hands-on Review: Software and AI
I played with the Galaxy S25 Edge and is running the same UI 7 software at the top of Android 15 – effectively giving it the same experience as the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
I like it very much, including the fact that its packs to make Samsung Dex, Multi Window and Edge Panel a productivity powerhouse.
Equally, the Galaxy S25 Edge seems to have the same set of new Galaxy AI features that were previously introduced with the Galaxy S25 release – such as now, cross action apps, and more.
Like the Galaxy S25 Ultra, the edge bends on separate AI agents (Gemini and Biksbi) to perform complex functions. However, work still needs how it interacts with third party apps because many of them still do not perform all the tasks I want.
But despite this, Galaxy S25 Edge has the latest Gemini live integration, such as being able to tap the camera to interact with help, instead of typing everything.
Samsung has not revealed how long the Galaxy S25 age will have a free access to Mithun Advanced, but I suspect that it will be 6 months similar to other Galaxy S25 phones.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Hands-on Review: Outlook
I honestly believe that the Galaxy S25 Edge is in a difficult situation, mainly how its price is and it compromises to achieve its thinness. At $ 1,099, it is $ 200 more expensive than a similar -sized Galaxy S25 Plus – and the Galaxy S25 is $ 200 lower than ultra flagship.
Battery life is clearly an area where the Galaxy S25 Edge is in a major loss. You can make the same debate for its cameras, but I think its dual-camera setup can still pack a punch. Yes, I am ready to not be a dedicated telephoto camera, until it does to reach the same results with pixel bining techniques.
You cannot take Samsung’s achievement here to make a flagship phone that is thinner than anything around the bonfire, but it does not leave me with the same permanent impression.
Now if it was like the Galaxy S25 Ultra (included camera), but in a very small and light package, then I think I will be more impressed – but it’s not. It is not a generation of a generation like RAZR or iPod nano.
Then, there is still a chance that S25 Edge can affect my feelings after testing my feelings properly.
