The Samsung Galaxy S25 series has become slightly larger, as a new entry has come as the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.

But this super-slim smartphone is a bit asymmetry, because in some ways it is an upgrade on the standard Galaxy S25, it is not as good in other ways.

Below, we have closely seen how these two phones are compared, including their screen, their cameras, their power and more.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge was unveiled in mid -May, but it is not far out at the time of writing, with a ship set on 30 May. The Samsung Galaxy S25 was declared in January and is now widely available.

    For pricing, Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge can be done with 256GB storage for $ 1,099 / £ 1,099 / AU $ 1,849, or with 512GB storage for $ 1,219 / £ 1,199 / AU $ 2,049. It is with 12GB RAM in both cases.

    Samsung Galaxy S25 is a cheap option, coming at $ 799 / £ 799 for 128GB storage, and growing for $ 859 / £ 859 / AU $ 1,399 and £ 959 / AU $ 1,599512GB for 256GB. It is again with 12GB RAM in every case.

There is a slightly misleading pricing because there is no 128GB model of Galaxy S25 in Australia and no 512GB model in the US. However, you can see that the initial price of Samsung Galaxy S25 is $ 300 / £ 300 lower than the initial price of Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.

But this base Galaxy S25 is with more than half of storage, so it can be more informative to compare 256GB models – especially when you can get 256GB Galaxy S25 in every market, we are seeing. For that, you are seeing $ 240 / £ 240 / AU $ 450 low price for Samsung Galaxy S25 compared to Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.

In addition to dimensions – which we will get – the design of these two phones is quite similar in many ways. They both have a glass back (protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2), a flat screen with a punch hole camera, and shapely corners.

The most immediate visual difference is the camera on the back, while the two phones arran both in the top left corner in a vertical line, the Samsung Galaxy S25 has an additional lens, while the Samsung Galaxy S25 age has a rectangular camera housing in the age that is absent on the base Galaxy S25.

Another major difference is the above dimension, with Samsung Galaxy S25 146.9 x 70.5 x 7.2 mm and Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge 158.2 x 75.6 x 5.8 mm. So the edge is a very slimmer, but also long and broad, thanks to a large screen, which we will discuss in a moment. Their weight is almost identical, although the Galaxy S25 Edge is 163G while the standard Galaxy S25 is 162g.

Other gaps include frames, which uses aluminum with Samsung Galaxy S25, while Galaxy S25 Edge, uses more premium titanium, and with colors Samsung Galaxy S25 with colors uses icy blue, mint, navy, navy, silver shadow, pink gold, coral red, and blue black, and blue black, and in the titium.

Both phones, however, have an IP68 rating, meaning they are dustproof and water is resistant to a depth of up to 1.5 meters up to 30 minutes.

For their screen, Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has a 6.7-inch 1440 x 3120 amoled screen with about 513 pixels-inch and 120Hz refresh rates. The Samsung Galaxy S25 has a 6.2-inch 1080 x 2340 amoled screen with about 416 pixel-pixel-inch and 120Hz refresh rate. Therefore, with more compact, its pixel density is low, so it will not look quite sharp.

This does not mean that this is not a good performance, although our Samsung Galaxy S25 review it “a great looking performance that is very bright, even a sunny day.”

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge vs Samsung Galaxy S25: Camera

These two phones have very different main cameras, while Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has 200MP F/1.7 primary snapper, standard Samsung Galaxy S25 has 50MP F/1.8 one. So there are far more megapixels in the edge – this does not mean that the camera is better, but once we have completed a full Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Review, we will have a clear idea of its quality.

In any case, their ultra-wide cameras are the same, both have 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide. Both phones also have a 12MP f/2.2 front-facing camera, and this video can record up to 8K quality.

However, where the standard Samsung Galaxy S25 benefits, one advantage also has a 10MP f/2.4 telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has no dedicated telephoto camera, with only the main and ultra-wide cameras (although both phones are capable of 2x optical-quality zoom with their main sensors).

In our Galaxy S25 review, we found that it had “very good cameras that always give a great photo, no matter whether light or theme.”

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge vs Samsung Galaxy S25: Performance and Software

Both Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge and Samsung Galaxy S25 have a Snapdragon 8 Elite Chipset and 12 GB RAM, so they should be more or less powerful.

This means that both of them should also be very powerful – we will reserve the decision on the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge until we put it through a complete review, but from the Galaxy S25 we said that “there is a great smartphone performance, the best you will really find at any cost.”

Both phones also come with storage up to 512GB, and they also have the same software – ie a UI 7, which is Samsung’s Android 15 overlays.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge vs Samsung Galaxy S25: Battery

One of the main possible issues with Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is its battery, as it is quite small at just 3,900mAh.

Now, the Samsung Galaxy S25 actually has only a large 4,000mAh battery, but remember that the S25 has a very small screen, so it will probably not be a battery hunger as S25 Edge.

Actually, Samsung claims that while Samsung Galaxy S25 can last up to 29 hours of video playback, Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge can last up to 24 hours. So this is a difference of five hours.

We will tell you how well the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is conducted in our own tests, but we were impressed by the standard Galaxy S25 here, saying that it has “excellent battery life, best you will find on this size phone.”

If you are using wireless charging, both phones also charge up to 25W, or 15W.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge vs Samsung Galaxy S25: Decision

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is a larger, slimmer phone than the Samsung Galaxy S25 and despite having a very large screen, its weight is only 1g more.

It also has a high pixel density screen and its main camera also has far more megapixels. But it has a low camera than the base Sansung Galaxy S25, as well as a slightly small battery, while most other glasses are similar in two phones.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 is then both above the edge and downside, but given that it is much higher than the Samsung Galaxy S25, it can struggle to compete. It is purely going on-paper by glasses-it can surprise us in our entire review. And in any way, its thin, stunning design is sure to attract some buyers.
