Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 is expected to come as the successor of Galaxy Watch 7 this year. According to a report, the alleged smartwatch can bring a new feature that tracks the level of antioxidant in your system. The dubbing antioxidant index, it may be able to keep you a check at the level of beta carotene with the Galaxy Watch 8 through the Samsung Health App. By allegedly placing a finger on the back side of the clock, the measurement will be done non-artically.

According to Android Authority ReportThe presence of antioxidant index features was discovered after the APK tear of apps that are part of a UI 8 Watch Build which were recently leaked. The strings of the code suggest that it would carry out the measurement of the level of beta carotene by requesting the worker to keep its thumb in the center of a sensor located behind the smartwatch.

The progress of measurement can be tested through the phone, possibly with the Samsung Health App.
The report suggests that this may only be possible on the recent model of Samsung Galaxy Watch, such as the Galaxy Watch 7 or Galaxy Watch Ultra. Alternatively, it can also start with the Galaxy Watch 8. The above wearer is estimated to ship with a UI 8 watch that supports the antioxidant index feature.
The additional wire indicates that it can only work using the thumb and not through the wrist or index finger. To achieve accurate results, it will reportly advise users to exclude measurements for at least 10 seconds. The graphics shared by the publication suggest that the feature may show your daily average, as well as the level “adequate” or “low”.
The company emphasizes that the antioxidant index measurement is only for fitness and wellness concerns and it should not be considered a replacement for medical-grade measuring devices. Wearers are advised to find a medical professional if their antioxidant levels become dangerous.
However, graphic mentions that it is a labs feature, which means that it is still subject to development. This is estimated to debut with Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 in the second half of 2025.
