Samsung on Monday announced several new features that are making their way for the Galaxy Watch with a UI 8 Watch update. Their purpose is to help users develop healthy habits. According to the company, it will bring guidance at bedtime, a feature that informs the best times to go to sleep by analyzing sleeping data for the last three days. Meanwhile, the vascular load measures the amount of stress on the vascular system during sleep. Samsung says that some features will be restricted to select the Galaxy Watch model.

The vascular load is another new feature that will be introduced with a UI 8 watch on the Galaxy Watch. As the name suggests, it measures the amount of stress on the vascular system during sleep and provides insight into the vascular load on the system with sleep, exercise and stress. Users need to wear their smartwatch during sleep to convenience to work.
Samsung says it has prepared a running coach feature to help users safely train hard physical activities, such as marathon. It provides real-time guidance and an individual training regime, with an injury-routine routine based on the fitness levels of the wearer. To take advantage of the running coach, users have to wear a galaxy watch and run for 12 minutes, providing a performance analysis and provides a running score between 1 and 10. Based on this collected data, the smartwatch makes a training plan to support the marathon.
The final feature is the antioxidant measurement, which was recently reported to come up with the Galaxy Watch 8 series. Samsung says that it measures the level of beta carotene in five seconds, taking advantage of the light-active bioactive sensor behind the Galaxy Watch. This feature provides insight about behavioral changes, inspiring users to adopt healthy habits.
The antioxidant index, with vascular load, is available only on the Galaxy Watch Ultra and the latter model. All three features are compatible with Android phones that are running Android 10 or more firmware and the Samsung Health app is required.
