All the eyes were on battery tests for the newly released Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 – at least if you are familiar with Samsung foldables when it comes to giving long battery life when you are familiar with those challenges. Will the latest models show improvement on their predecessors? And Samsung will finally distribute foldable phones that can challenge more traditional models for a place in our best phone battery life list.
We have put both phones for testing for our Galaxy Z Fold 7 reviews with our Galaxy Z Flip 7 Review. And for those two burning questions, we can only offer that the most disappointment of the answer – yes and no.
Good news: Both Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 posted better numbers than the previous versions of Samsung’s foldables on our battery test, where the phone surf on the web on the web on the cellular until they get out of electricity. But despite that improvement, neither fold nor Flip distributed the kind of battery from such premium phones. They are also not even the longest -lasting foldables we tested.
Foldable phones face a longevity challenge. They have got large screens to keep them operated, but there is only so much space for the battery. This limits dependence on the size of a phone manufacturer to improve the power of living, forcing them to rely on other characteristics such as power management capabilities, which also power the silicone phone.
Both Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 have larger screens than their predecessors – both inside and out of the phone. And yet, only the new flip has a larger battery compared to its predecessor, which sports 4,300 mAh power packs in 4,000 mAh cells inside the Galaxy Z Flip 6. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 has a 4,400 mAh battery similar to the Galaxy Z fold 6.
So how well these new Samsung phones have crossed these boundaries to improve battery life? We are running additional tests, but initial results.
Galaxy Z Fold 7 Battery Life Result

We set our battery test to our default adaptive refresh rate on the 8-inch main display of the Galaxy Z Fold 7. This means that the fresh rate will adjust the dynamic as the phone surfs on the web in our test.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 posted an initial result of 10 hours and 55 minutes. This is a slight improvement at the time of 10:35 of the Galaxy Z fold 6.
Given that both phones have an equal 4,400 mAh battery, we believe that the Galaxy Z fold 7 Snapdragon 8 Elite Chipset benefits from the power efficiency of the chipset, especially since it is a larger screen than its predecessor.
A slight advantage in battery life means that the Galaxy Z fold 7 is slightly ahead of the average time posted by the smartphone. More importantly, the time is not until other book-style foldables that share the design of the Galaxy Z fold 7.

Both the OnePlus Open and Pixel 9 Pro fold open to reveal the large interior panel like the Galaxy Z fold 7. And both the phones lasted a little longer on a charge, both postings averaged more than 11: 5 hours on our test.
The result of OnePlus Open is particularly notable that the phone came out two years ago and still lasts longer than Samsung’s latest foldables. After Samsung, there have been several attempts to try and produce a long -lasting folding.
OnePlus has already said that it will not release the OnePlus Open 2 this year, although we are expecting to see a Pixel 10 Pro fold on our next hardware event on August 20. It depends on how long this phone stays on a charge, the Galaxy Z fold 7 can move itself behind the competition.
Galaxy Z Flip 7 Battery Life Results

This news is a bit better for Galaxy Z Flip 7, as it saw more adequate benefits in our battery life test on the previous Samsung Flip phone. He said, some foldable flip phones of Motorola outline Samsung’s offerings.

The time of Galaxy Z Flip is 12 hours in its adaptive setting and 24 minutes is a major improvement in 11:01 time posted by Galaxy Z Flip 6. More important, better battery time – aided by large power packs and upgraded to Z Flip 7, Exinance 2500 chipset – Samsung’s smartphone and our testing time puts a greater distance.
Nevertheless, it is not the longest permanent flip phone that you can buy. It will be Motorola Razra Ultra (2025), which is out for 15:42 on our battery test – a very impressive time. While the price of that phone is more than $ 1,099 Galaxy Z flip 7 $ 1,299, it is worth noting that $ 699 RAZR (2025) also posts better time at 13:45. Only $ 999 Motorola Razr Plus Battery trails Galaxy Z Flip 7 in terms of life.
Samsung foldable phone battery life outlook
Samsung deserves credit for steps taken to improve the battery life on both its new foldables. But in the case of Galaxy Z Fold 7, those benefits are the best marginal.
And this is not an insignificant issue – long battery life is one of the big factors that people consider looking for a new phone. If Samsung wants the shopkeepers to adopt a large number of foldable phones, then he will have to make a big profit in future versions.
