Looking for a Windows video player that looks good, is easy to use, and each media supports the file you can imagine? Screenbox There is a free and open source application that fits perfectly in Windows 11. This media player Microsoft should have made for its own operating system.
We have talked about IINA, a smooth Mac option for VLC. The screenbox is its Windows version. It goes without saying that VLC is a powerful video player – if you like it, you should use it completely. But there are downside: VLC’s various toes can feel disorganized and heavy and mostly gray apps do not mix at all on a modern Windows desktop. The screenbox is designed using Libvlcsharp, which means that it does each media format VLC and provides the same performance. The big difference is the user interface.
And what is the difference. Open a video with this application and you will watch a beautiful player with only buttons that are useful. And some good features also include. The player supports YouTube’s hidden keyboard shortcut, which means if you learn them, you will be able to use them in your desktop video player. There is also a picture-in-picture support, when you are working on something else, you get to play a video in the background.
If you want it, the application also provides a media library feature. By default, your videos and music folders are included – you can add more folders to settings. I like it especially good to browse music. You can find by track, album or artist.
What do you think so far?

But most people, I doubt, it’s just going to use to open the topical file, not manage the library. I like it that it works for both use cases, though. If you have not yet found the right Windows Media Player, see it – it can work for you.
