The scattered spider has been around for many years and recently made several headlines to target retail, insurance and aviation industries. Danger Group has also been in the headlines for its broad salesforce hacking campaign, which affected major companies such as Google.

Some of the recent attacks for scattered spider also include shinoors, a cybercrime group that specializes in forcibly recovery. Both groups are believed to have merged.
In a message posted online last week, scattered Spider and Shinoors announced their retirement. A long manifesto mentions recent high-profile hacks and taunts. Hackers said, “Our objectives have been fulfilled, now it’s time to say goodbye.”
