- Vietnam set a Guinness World Record with 10,518 drones in the Stunning Synchronize display
- Chinese firm Damoda supplied technology for Vietnam Liberation Day Celebration
- 28 April Rehearsal was later certified as a record despite cancellation of the incident
Vietnam has set a new Guinness World Record with a drone light show which includes 10,518 synchronized drones.
The demonstration in Ho Chi Minh City on April 28, 2025 appreciated the 50th anniversary of the liberation of South and National Reunion.
The certified record is officially recognized by Guinness as “the largest drone light show by the number of drones flying together”. It seems that an official public program employed for April 30 came from a rehearsal, which was later canceled.
Celebrating the history of Vietnam
AV magazine Report Reddit Users estimated that public criticism on advertising placement by Digital Payment firm VNPAY during the national holiday was followed by public criticism.
According to reports, removal of advertisements may lead to issues with drone choreography, resulting in conflict and another scheduled show on 1 May.
Espite the setback, April 28 rehearsal included detailed constructions of Vietnam’s history and development. The drone formed several images such as the national symbol, historical view and the city skyline.
The drone performance was operated by Damoda – a Chinese company that is known globally for its massive aerial performances – and designed in a close combination with the Vietnamese organizers of the show.
This is not Damoda’s first Guinness World Record. It first set a record of 10,000 drones at CCTV Spring Festival Gala in 2024 and supplied the drone system for several other major programs including expo 2020 Dubai.
Damoda stated that his drone performed firmly during the performance despite the heat and the intervention of the signal, and the company claims over 10,000 demonstrations that there is no accident and 99.999% credibility rate.
