According to FIVERR’s research comparing UK -based freelancers with business decision making in the UK, freelancers are now able to earn more thanks to AI.
Data claims that one of the five UK trading leaders depends on the freelancers that kills AI, two of the two (38%) businesses actively looking for workers with AI expertise.
Despite productivity benefits, freelancers are looking at Artificial Intelligence, many (44%) are more charged for AI-operated work, as well as promoting their income by reducing their workloads.
Freelancer AI is opening more money
More than half of the freelancers in the survey said that they would not be able to work without AI – many can now save several hours per week at their work, with some pride that they are saving two full working days every week.
More than five of the more than five say they are able to determine their own hours, about three-fourths of their rates. As a result (70%) claims that they were earning more in full -time roles.
The Chatgpt was found to be the most popular tool (70%), including Google (38%), Gemini (33%) and Microsoft Copilot (24%).
Despite great boost, a significant ratio of freelancers (36%) expressed concern that AI could eventually automatically automatically automatically to parts of their role.
The FiverR discovered a change away from traditional workers, revealing that most businesses (87%) plan to hire freelancers up to 10 times in the next six months. Two out of five of the UK claims to use freelancers in 2025, in 2025, companies saved £ 33,000 per month on an average in favor of freelancers on in-house employees.
However, financial complications have increased with an increase in additional flexibility – more than half (55%) stated that current tax laws prevent businesses from hiring freelancers, and only two (39%) freelancers are felt supported by the government.

Further, there is a clear requirement of some redestion to adjust the shifting worker pattern.
Fiverr UK’s country manager Mitchell Tropeno said briefly: “Portfolio career is pushing the mainstream and becoming the backbone of the UK workforce.”
“To really exploit this ability, we need modern policies and systems that support this new way of working, not holding it back.”
