The Apple TV streaming box has a relatively small user base, and thus, it does not pay attention to Apple on the company’s large kenots. WWDC 2025 was no different, but TVOS 26 is still getting very funny new features that are worth highlighting. The biggest new TVOS 26 features here are coming on your Apple TV.
A new apple music karaoke mode
On Apple TV, Apple Music is getting a new karaoke feature called Sing. It uses your iPhone as a mike and you work to sing with songs displayed on Apple TV. The streaming box will then increase your voice, which will be a fun way to host a Karaoke party at home. Of course, you will need to run iOS 26 on your iPhone in addition to TVOS 26 on Apple TV to access it. Additionally, foreign songs will be translated into your language and will even come with pronunciation guides.
Liquid glass design
TVOS 26 is also on the liquid glass train, and the TV can only be the place where this design philosophy will actually shine. Larger design elements come with large screens, where those new transit widgets and icons should feel right at home. In addition, Apple is promising that you will be able to watch more shows and movies at a time.
Choose your Apple TV profile on wake

Every time you wake up your Apple TV from sleep mode, you will be able to choose to show the profile selection page. This is great for a device that is to be shared between multiple members of a house, so that each person can return to the content in their respective watch list.
Connect your favorite speaker permanently
This is probably my favorite upcoming Apple TV feature. You can go to TVOS settings and choose to permanently connect to your favorite speaker. In this way, every time Apple TV wakes up, it will take the right speaker, without the need to feed you with settings or to manually connect. The only catch is that the speaker needs to support the airplay for this feature.

Call and facetime enhancement
If you use your Apple TV for a call, you will be happy about it. Apple is promising call notifications for the device, which means that you will be able to answer the call using your Apple TV. Reinstated contact cards from the phone app will also come on TVOS 26. Separately, facetime on TVOS 26 will support more live caption languages.
New screensaver from India

One of my favorite Apple TV features is a video screensaver that displays slow overhead shots of different places when the TV is not used. It is an incredibly choice of beauty that makes my living room feel very peaceful. With TVOS 26, Apple TV is getting a new aerial screensaver from India, which is quite exciting as someone living in the country. The natural beauty and geographical variety of India is unmatched, and some of them love to see Apple coming on TV.
