As a person who covers consumer technology for a living, I have to use a few dozen smartphones every year. While I almost always advise which is the new best smartphone, most consumers do not upgrade every year. My friends and family are those who tell me that they do not want to upgrade and want to ask, “How can I make my current phone fast?” I have an answer in the end.

I do not get to use long -term review devices, but I have raised tips and tricks from years of experience that can help promote your old Android phone speed. Before you ask, it does not include rooting your device. These tips are easy to apply for both technology-loving consumers and average.
If your Android phone has started feeling slow, you should mainly focus on cleaning its storage. And if you are uncertain about where to start, then there are some things that you can do to make your old Android phone faster.
1. Remove unused apps
Over time, the phone can collect a lot of unused apps and leave you with a disorganized place. You must have used a QR scanner app from a restaurant on your years old journey or a photo editing app that is no longer in use. It is best to uninstall such apps to clean the space on your Android phone.

Discipling your Android phone can make it fast as it will not need to allocate resources to apps that are no longer in use. Uninstalling such APK will lead to better resource management and thus, a sharp phone. You can visit the Settings> Storage> App to see the list of installed apps and uninstall people you don’t need. On the app screen, you can also press for a long time on such forgotten apps and the app can go to the information> uninstall.
2. Explain more storage
Older Android phones collect lots of junk, whether it is through files or through long-bound photos of school notes. After removing unused apps, you should aim to clean the location to undergo files and photos on your Android phone.

You can go to your phone’s file app to check what has been saved. Download folders often have the most junk from long forgotten PDF files, photos etc. There are two more places you should check to clean the storage.
- Remove the photo from your phone and save them on the exterior drive or cloud. It helps to backup your memories and clear space on your old Android phone.

Clean the app cash. For unknown, cache is a bits of data that saves an app, so the next time you open it, it intensifies to operate it. I recommend cleaning the cash for less used apps, with no login information. You can go to Settings> Storage> App> Clear Cash to save more space.
3. Check for update
Make sure your Android phone is updated on the OS front. Keeping it updated will make it Snapier and install the latest security protocol. You can go to Settings> General> System updates to check and install the latest available software version.

Once you remove the unintended apps and update your old Android phone in the latest OS version, you should go to Google Play Store and update the remaining apps. The use of the latest available versions of these apps is important to reach the latest features, better performance and better security.
4. Bonus: Adjust animation speed
You can enable or disable some settings to make your phone feel fast, including developer options to change the speed of animation. It is slightly more complex than the rest of the settings mentioned above, but it can feel your phone quite fast.
You need to enable developer options by going to settings> Tap on the phone> Software information> and then tap your build number seven times. This developer options should enable, so now you can access various animation scale settings.
Now, go to the drawing section within the developer options and scroll down until you get a window animation scale. Tap on it and set animation on 0.5x, so apps and window pop-ups run faster.

You can also adjust the transition animation scale to reduce the moving speed between the home screen panel and apps. In addition, minimize the animator period scale to open and close the application, unlock the phone, and other general UI animation Snapier.
