- Android 16 is causing problems for some pixel devices
- Navigation buttons and gestures are cold
- So far Google has not officially said anything about the bug
Android 16 was officially pushed out to the Pixel owners last week, but the report of the software update is coming, causing some very large bugs on some handsets, which belong to gestures and interfaces and navigation.
As noted Android headlinesReports say some navigation buttons and gestures do not seem to be answered because they should have – this means that some operations (such as back to the previous screen) takes seconds to complete, or do not happen at all.
It is not difficult to find problems: on Reddit, we have received posts Inappropriate button Google Pixel 8, Swiping Up Nothing is doing A Pixel 9 Pro XL, and at many gestures do not work On a pixel 6.
On X (East Twitter), Artem Rasakovski Android police say the back gesture works only after updating Android 16 – and involves a screen recording so that you can see what happens (or rather, not).
Problems for some
Here a demo of the back button is not working randomly on Android 16. I caught a bug report and presented it to Google Engineering with this breeding screens. Hopefully, they will detect it. pic.twitter.com/nemifqqqqrvbJune 14, 2025
While there are many reports of online issues, these problems are clearly not affecting everyone: since my Google Pixel 9 upgrade to Android 16, I have not seen any problem using navigation gestures.
So far, Google has not officially said anything about these problems. If you are affected, you can Report bugs To Google. There are now complaints with so many users, there is no doubt that it is going to address soon instead of later.
These bugs especially annoy that they belong to a fundamental part of user experience, and affect many apps and screens. Being able to go around your phone is a very fundamental part of using it.
Android 16 brings a new pixel for its favorite contacts with many useful upgrades, including VIP feature, but we are still waiting for the Big Material 3 Expressive revamp to arrive – which must be later this year.
