Sony has a new playstation-branded arcade-style fight stick that is coming soon. Controller, dubbed project defense, was declared during the bus June 2025 State of Play Showcase,
It should be well paired on the recently announced Mortal Combat: Ligi Collection and Arc System Work Fighting Game Marvel Tokens: Fighting Sols.
The teaser only showed a stick, but later more details were revealed Playstation blog postSony revealed that the controller can wirely connect to a PS5 or PC using the playstation link technique, although you can alternately plug it through the USB-C cable.
According to Sony, the link allows for “ultra-lo delays” aimed at facilitating accurate responses when pressing or moving the stick.
Project Defcent Fight Stick is “Custom Design” by Sony and feature at least eight button with mechanical switch. This is a digital stick, so you can move it conservatively but not independently in any direction.
There is also a touchpad similar to Dualsense controller and interchangeable restrictive gates. The controller will also come with a carrying case that includes a liver gap to keep the stick safe.
Sony did not share a release date beyond 2026, rather than saying that more details would come in “months ahead”. Those details will include the name of the actual device and finally the launch date. But we have to wait and make a effort for ourselves whether it is one of the best fight rods for PS5.
