Sony’s 1000X earbuds can receive most of the attention in the company’s lineup, but there are gems found on roses for less money. The flagship offers something for $ 100 compared to WF-1000xm5. There have also been some compelling products from Sony under $ 150, and recently released () The bill also fits. A comfortable fit, a long list of features and up-avera ANC performance leads positivity here, but there are some caves that you have to consider before committing.
What is good about WF-C710N?
WF-C710N is the successor to begin in 2023. This set was a formidable middle-range contender in itself, thanks to a compact design and easy features. Sony did not change the overall look for C710N too much, but it is easy to find the touch panel for control because they are now concave surrounded. The company also offered a transparent blue color option that allows you to look inside the earbuds and the case. It is giving and vibes, but I am all for it. In my opinion, more transparent gadgets, better.
Compared to most of the competition, the small size of C710N also means that it is more comfortable to wear for a long time. Earbuds sit well on my ear lines, and there is no unbalanced, excess weight out of my head edge. It is clear that Sony has cured ergonomics for full day’s use, and I had no problem wearing them for the entirety of my battery tests. It is not always with large, bulkier earbuds.
C710n can be a midrange set on $ 120, but the long list of features allows the earbuds to punch above their weight. Starting with the basics, active noise cancellation (ANC), adjustable surroundings sound mode, adaptable EQ (preset and sliders), multipoint connectivity, reconstructive touch control and automatic posing when buds are removed from your ears. At the more advanced end of the spec sheet, you get adaptive sound control: Sony’s trademark tool that automatically automatically changes in sound settings based on activity or location. There is a personal EQ, 360 reality audio support, DSEE upscaling and a quick attention feature that reduces volume and activates an ambient sound for any brief chat. Here is the only notable omission of speech-to-chat that does the same work as a quick attention when it starts talking, but I am not surprised that it was abandoned a pair of $ 120 years.
The ANC performance is remarkably strong on C710N, an achievement that usually eliminates competition in this price range. In particular, I noticed that these earbuds do an average average work of blocking human voices because I was able to greatly reduce the amount of nonsense nearby in most examples. I am not talking about complete silence, but the amount of noise is above average when you are in the surrounding area of someone you will not hear in full quantity. Louds also become constantly distracted like fans, but are not completely distracted, so it is also better that you will get a lot from the same price options.
What is not good about WF-C710N?

Compared to other midrange earbuds, the sound quality is slightly above the average at C710N, but at this price it can be good enough to satisfy you. The bass is tight and porous, but often it overpowers the mixture for hip-hop, rock and metal-no style with driving beat. And when you switch to something more sweet like Bluegrass, the low-end tone still disrupts the triple and the middle border. Depending on the song, you can cut through the high, but a boost in the middle of EQ will make miracles here for the overall depth of sound (you want to keep DSEE active). Is it good for anyone to pick up a set of earbuds on a budget? Yes. Does audio performance compete with flagship options? not even close.
In my tests, C710N did not run when Sony promised. The company says that you will receive an ANC active for eight and a half hours on a charge. However, using a mixture of noise and an ambient sound mode, I was managed only between six and seven hours. This is a respectable amount, but if you want to wear them for the entire working day, you cannot make it. This is especially true if you also need to roam them for your movement.
Despite offering options for “capturing the voice during phone calls” in the sound connect app, C710N does not pipe more of you through earbuds in that scenario. Even with the environmental sound active, I still felt the need to speak more than normal, so voice and video calls were not as natural as they could. Overall, Sony assured the “crystal-cleaer call”, because you look decent, but not ancient. C710N will prevent the most background noise from coming, but your voice quality is very low in doing so. All these means that these earbuds are usable for calls if you really need them, but if you feel sensible in the call, it is important, you want to see elsewhere.
Final decision on WF-C710N
If comfort and easy features are your primary concern, C710N will work well. Sound quality is not best, but this is also not bad, so I have no doubt that many people will be happy with it. If I was able to hit Sony’s declared battery life (or even crossing), it would be easy to recommend these earbuds. Despite this, they are still a solid option, especially at $ 120, as the company once again pursues its midrange rivals with more convenient devices, as much as you will find elsewhere. C710N is definitely a better option than a little cheaper, which is now $ 99.95 ($ 80 at the time of launch) at full price.
