Money is tight these days, and most big purchases can be difficult to justify. While most of the products I review for my job impress me enough to recommend them to a small group of interested buyers, some deserve a universal recommendation, especially at a higher price.

Sony’s latest headphones fall into the latter category. At $448, the price of the WH-1000XM6 headphones is nothing to sneeze at. Still, they’re the best headphones I’ve ever worn, and I’d recommend them to anyone willing to spend money for the best headphones out there. During October Prime Day, you can get the headphones for $20 on sony Or Amazon,

Whether using them to focus on work or on my commute to and from the office, I uncover intricacies of my music that I couldn’t unlock with other headphones. The XM6 sound with such precision that my favorite songs feel new when I listen to them with these headphones. The processor and optimizer allow the headphones to minimally register the intricate details of my music in a surprising and delightful way.

I’ve worn the headphones on several flights to familiarize myself with their noise-cancelling powers. One of the many upgrades Sony has installed into the XM6 is more powerful noise cancellation, thanks to a new noise-canceling processor that’s seven times faster than the XM5 and an adaptive microphone system.

Too: Why do I travel with these Sony headphones

This proved true on a recent flight. I didn’t know we were making an emergency landing because the noise canceling on the headphones was so strong.

The battery life of the headphones is strong. I use headphones regularly and charge them once a week. They’ve got about 30 hours of battery life, which should last an office worker or student at least three days—if not more—for eight hours of continuous use.

Could this discount be a little steeper? 100%. Getting $20 off the price of $448 (5% off) is a paltry deal. However, these headphones have only been around a few months since they were released, and Sony doesn’t update this lineup every year, meaning it’s not regularly discounting its products to make way for new merchandise.

Too, Sony XM6 vs Sony XM5: Are the new Sony headphones worth the upgrade?

The predecessors to the XM5 headphones were released three years ago, in 2022. So, when Sony upgrades this lineup, it does a substantial upgrade that will keep the headphones competitive for years to come and maintain the same price for a few months (or years). This also proves that the headphones will last a user for a very long time.

If you’re interested in saving a little more, old XM5 model On sale for $300 ($100 off).

Who should buy the Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones?

First and foremost, you will need about $400. If that’s you, Sonny WH-1000XM6 There are only headphones in that price range that you should buy.

These are an excellent fit for desk workers who want strong noise cancellation, responsive and transparent microphones for phone and video calls, and comfortable wear for many hours.

They’re also a perfect fit for audiophiles looking to get the most out of their music, as I’ve said, listening to my favorite songs with my headphones felt like uncovering new music and details. Sony, in collaboration with the audio engineers who master these headphones, has created a device that is used not only by music-enjoying consumers but also by music-making creators.

    How I rated this deal

5% off isn’t that great, I’ll be honest. But as I wrote earlier, Sony takes its time releasing new editions of this luxury lineup, resulting in fewer product releases and fewer sales. I rated this deal 2/5 because it’s not 20% off, but it’s still a valid discount that we don’t see all year. For those who really want these headphones, $20 off might make them more attractive now. You can also shop last year XM5 model On sale for $100 instead.
