I love a good permanent desk setup. However, something that is very real in my life is that I am always working away from my major, beloved home office, and I cannot take the risk of losing productivity, nor can slow down when working away from home.
Therefore, I went down from the rabbit hole to find the best portable monitor a few months ago. I spent time in using my iPad as a second screen, but since I went from my M1 iPad Pro 11-inch to an iPad Mini 7, I lost the screen real estate that I wanted.
When I got the Sotsu Flipation Monitor, I snatched the Pro variant without any hesitation. I thought it would be perfect for me, but I only upgraded it to the flagship alite model. It was from writing this review 166 days ago (while using Flip Action Elite 16 and my MacBook Pro). Since then, I have to go everywhere in the laptop sleeve of my 20L nomatic backpack, and I have used it almost every day. I have some thoughts.

Sotsu Flipation Elite 16: Anboxing and First Impression
Immediately, when I opened the box, I just saw Apple-Esk The Sotsu Flipation Elite 16, and was killed in the best way. Silver color, round edges, black bezels corresponding to the silver age, and performed a grand performance. I
Immediately noted that without any settings, I plugged the display in my MacBook Pro, which fully matched my MacBook screen. Then, I saw the base and stood up. At first, it seemed that it would be complicated or not at all what I wanted, but I was sold when I saw that I could take out the monitor and raised it over my MacBook.
When I realized that I could set the display next to my MacBook display, above my MacBook display, or in portrait, horizontal, horizontal on my own, I was tilted.

As I mentioned, it looks like an apple product. If Apple was to be portable monitoring, it should buy Sotsu and make this display itself. It is good, and matches well.
The build quality is fantastic and looks completely new even after a daily use of about 200 days. The hinges do great work, IO is still tight, and there are zero issues in performance.
The design is fantastic, and I find myself returning to this portable monitor again and again, even when testing others, or other co-functioning setup I can plug.
Sotsu Flipation Elite 16: In Uses
After the use of about 200 days, I got a full sweet place for this performance. I have made a direct amendment; In addition, I am using this screen, and there has been a dream to use it. My single amendment was swaping the cable that came with it on 1 meter Thunderbolt 4 cable. I added 40 GBPS right-angle adapters to it, so I still found the cable pointing to the portable monitor behind my Mac.
I did it only keeping this EDC in mind. Nothing was wrong with the cable sent, but I knew that I had to move some big files that I want a Thunderbolt 4 cable in my bag, so I can also have one that is multi -purpose.
For many reasons, Sotsu Flipation Elite 16 has been my secret to productivity. First of all, I can now easily get a two (or three) screen setup, all out of my smooth EDC backpack, all operated with the same power, a cable connects my Mac with the display, and then if I want zero delay, a cable is running from my Mac to my ipad mini. Second, based on the one I am working on, I can swap between being a stacked monitor layout, for a portrait monitor next to my Mac, for a second display for my iPad, for a Mac Mini, a camera setup, or another tool for a completely free monitor for another equipment, on which I am working.
Third, it is light and easy to fit in my backpack, without the need to reorganize or shake things; It is not just almost anything and slides in a sleeve in my bag. And fourth, it has a better screen resolution than average monitor and most monitor that will also be available. At the same time, I travel, from which it becomes even more easy to use to use.
My daily setup experience now includes Sotsu Flipation Elite 16-inch. It takes only seconds to establish your entire workpiece, and I can do it almost anywhere. I usually operate most of my time with performance over my MacBook, more on the level of the ergonomic eye, and as my primary performance. Below is my 13 -inch MacBook screen for my secondary things, running two virtual screens, for a administrator, and for a project management. Then my iPad runs from mini research to spotify, reminders, slack, or sometimes to perception.
When I am working on something where I want a more vertical place, I will rotate the display in portrait mode so that whatever I am doing, I can see more lines of what I am doing, and then when I am done, I will turn it back and take it back over my MacBook.
If I am working in an area where the stacked monitor does not understand for any reason, I will keep it to the left and still have a multi-display setup.
There are some things that I want was in this display, which would be just icing on the cake. First, there will be a USB-A port. Since I am on a new MacBook Pro, I have no USB-A port and have two examples where I have to take out a dongle to use that USB-A device. I want my SD card slot to be USB-A port by the slot reader.
Secondly, I want to have an app integration with performance like displaypilot 2 on any new benak monitor. However, I need to control display brightness using an app called Monitor Control. Third, I want the panel to have an OLED for the couple shine, and fourth, I want a nano texture display option as well, much as is with a paper -like screen on my iPad. However, none of those qualifications are opposition, just wish for a customized option.

Sotsu Flipation Elite 16: Final decision
In short, this display has become a staple in my EDC setup for a reason. This has been the perfect portable monitor for me, and is due to its massive design, 4K panels and notable multi-function stand. I have no plans to get it out of my everyday carry bag soon, and I plan to continue using this panel almost daily.
