Brookhevan’s Sphanix detector at the Relativeistic Heavy Ayon Collider (RHIC) has reported its first physics measurement of gold-ion confrontation. Designed for heavy ion experiments, Sphanix recorded thousands of charged particles and head-on gold-gold effects and recorded an accurate count of their energies. These initial results confirm the performance of the detector and pave the way for their main mission: searching for quark -goloon plasma (QGP), thought of filling the universe microcecand after Big Bang. By verifying the basic collision properties, the experiment lays the foundation for deep QGP study.
Quark -Gloon Plasma
As Two PapersQuark -Gloon plasma is a foreign position of a substance made of free quarks and glones that existed microseconds after Big Bang. A small fireball is formed by colliding with a heavy nucleus in RHIC (200 GEV per nucleon), where this plasma has a atom “melt”. Sphenix was created to examine these extreme conditions. This is essentially upgradation of Brookhevan’s earlier Fenix Detector.
Sphanix found that the head-on (central) AU+AU collisions produce about ten times more charged particles and energy compared to the confrontation (peripheral) collision. It first matches Rhic results and confirms that detector is performing as design. With the installation of this baseline, the researchers will study the rare investigation of QGP – a fully renovated jet – to study how quarks and glones in the plasma lose energy.
Implication and next stage
The run of RHIC’s last 2025 gold-ion collisions will take advantage of the capabilities of each detector. At the same time, the LHC of CERN collides the lead nuclee on a lot of energy, and its Ellis/Atlas/CMS experiments have seen the same QGP effects such as jet mitigation. Two colloidors examine the supplementary regime, so the exact RHIC measurement of spheres will enrich the global image of the plasma.
Subsequently, Sphenix will treat energetic jet as a microscope on QGP. By comparing energy loss in heavy-fourth versus light-spweck jets, scientists can test whether plasma is a smooth fluid or clumps. In the form of a co-consolid notes, the first measurement establishes “base” for the “beginning of a very exciting chapter” for the CGP program of Spanics and Herald.
