Netflix and Spotify have worked to launch a golf-inspired game as a way to promote “Happy Gilmore 2” by Adam Sandler’s 1996 comedy film, which is a premiere on Netflix on this Friday, 25 July.
This partnership represents a new venture for Spotify, as the music platform had never done to create gaming experiences within its app before any other company.
Gaming is an area that Spotify has largely ignored, so it is notable to work with streaming giants, even though only for a campaign campaign because it could work as a test to see whether consumer was echoed with experience. Since the game is associated with a beloved creed classic, it also offers a unique opportunity to promote engagement.
Spotify says it developed a game in partnership with Mik Studio.

The new mini-game called Happy Gilmore 2, especially within the Spotify app, is available. To play, users should correct their golf swing by tapping on their device as they aim to complete all three holes.
The game also provides a unique audio-visual experience, which features audio clips from the film when users complete each round, as well as with an individual playlist of the “Happy” track, especially cured for the user. Players can also find Easter eggs, such as Happy’s boots, their signature hockey stick and a crocodile.
At the end of the experience, the users can see the official “Happy Gilmore 2” trailer and share their individual playlists and final scores on social media.
