In 2023, the AI DJ feature of Spotify has some good things and some shortcomings, and now the tool is getting its first important upgrade. Today (May 13), AI DJ can take your requests.
Beyond curing a personal hearing experience (with some radio DJ-esk commentary), now you can use the voice prompt to change your tunes, which you are in mood, or in a summer jam.
As an example, you can say, “Give me some electronic beats for the afternoon run,” and DJ will pull something that inspire your run.
SpotifyAI DJ has become very popular in the previous year, and many have clearly requested the ability to request more control over their hearing sessions.
Giving a little more control to the DJ tool is a good feature, especially the defect we found that it would never recommend new music, instead filtering through tracks and styles. We already prefer without exposing the latest single.

How to request music with Spotify’s AI DJ
AI DJ is available only to premium customers, and for now, in only 60 countries and you need to speak English to use the new Voice Prompt Tool.
Fortunately, however, if you complete the merit, it is very simple to use.
1. Go on search and find ‘DJ’
Play press to start DJ
2. Press and hold DJ button
When you are ready to switch the music, find the DJ button in the corner of the right hand. When the equipment is ready, a beep will sound. From there, use your voice to ask AI DJ for a specific type of music.
3. Use
Press the DJ button to switch it or make new requests. If you want to change the mood, but there is not a signal, then a quick tap of the DJ button will leave the next part.
Beta genre
Spotify said the new feature is still in beta, so you cannot use it for non-music audio such as audibook or podcast.
Then, you have to take a premium membership to reach AI DJ. A person costs $ 11.99 per month and a family plan goes up to $ 19.99 per month.
