Looking at all new shows and films on Paramount Plus this month, a name jumped on me: “Layer Cake.”
Now, that title may not be familiar with you. The 2004 Crime thriller grossed $ 11.8 million at the box office. But this is one Very You are probably familiar with those names.
It has Daniel Craig, Pre-Zems Bond, as a cocaine dealer, who hates violence and just wants out of the game. One of his colleagues? A young Tom Hardy.
There are also Michael Gamman, which you probably know the best as the Eighth “Harry Potter” films as the third to Albus dumbbildor, but the film has a ruthless crime masters. And all this is directed by Matthew Vaughan, before he is impressing his best man Richie before going to make “Kick-Get” and “Kingsman: The Secret Service”.
So if you are watching something to see after the end of the epic “mobland” or need a great film to watch at the end of this week, here you need to check the “layer cake” on the paramount plus.
What is ‘layer cake’?

As I have already mentioned, “layer cake” saw Daniel Craig as XXXX, a successful cocaine dealer who wants out of coke business and retires quite a life.
There is just one problem: his boss. XXXX works for the gymnastic price (Kenneth Craneham), which needs some things before our leadership can get some peace and calm pleasure.
First, Jimmy needs our otherwise anonymous hero to find Charlie (Nathali Lungi), a drug-adicted runway with a linked father. He also requires a drug deal with Duke (Jamie Foreman), offering Jimmy $ 1 million in ecstasy pills.
Of course, none of it goes to the plan, and now XXXX has to navigate the layers of London criminal underworld to complete the work and exit.
‘Layer Cake’ can be my favorite Daniel Craig performance – and it’s saying something
Daniel Craig has made several prestigious demonstrations under its belt at this point. Beautiful and deadly James Bond, magnificent detective Benoite Blanc and Taika Wetty’s Belvadier Vodka advertisement, just a few names, just a few names.
But his performance in “layer cake” may be my favorite among them. It is an ideal mixture of intelligence and is calm under pressure.
In many ways, it is similar to the performance that he will later give in “Casino Royale” in 2006. His performance in the “layer cake” is sometimes also quoted why he was cast as James Bond in 2005, although others say EON Productions gave an eye on Craig in early 1996.
Nevertheless, the performance in “layer cake” is slightly higher than a crag, which gives its first bond in the film, and not as furnishing as it gives in the “Quantum of Solas”. It lacks lack of bondage, while still ensuring that the audience knows that Craig is the clever person in the room.
Yes, other people of this film are well worth watching – Gambon is particularly excellent, and Hardy, Sienna Miller, Kolm Meen and George Harris are very good – but it is still Craig that steals the film from the beginning and never lets go.
There is also “layer cake”, simply, say, a great crime thriller. If you like Gai Richie movies or other work of Matthew Vaughan, you will easily find yourself enjoying it. And it has a killer soundtrack which is worth the price of entry on its own. Now there is no reason to check that it is available to stream on Paramount Plus.
