
Microsoft is testing the new file explorer AI-operated features that will enable Windows 11 users to work with images and documents without the need to open files.
Known as “AI verbs”, they can currently be used only to remove backgrounds, erase items and stain backgrounds in JPG, JPEG and PNG image files.
The complete list of file explorer AI actions also includes a device designed to help users to help find any of its image easily using Microsoft’s Bing Web Search Engine.

The new AI features are rolling for Windows Insider in Canary Channel, who has established Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 27938.
This new Windows 11 Build “Settings> Privacy and Safety> Text and Image Generation” introduces a new entry into the dialogue, which shows that third party applications have recently used Windows’s generic AI model and allow users to control which apps are allowed to use.
In May, Microsoft also announced new AI agents that change the settings on your Windows computer on Snapdragon-Integrated Copilot+ PC.
As the company explained at that time, users can use these agents to find the settings that they want to change using the natural language and instruct them to do so without the need for any user participation beyond the initial signal.
