Even when it was first teased, the biggest question of many people with the Galaxy S25 age was how much compromise would be made in a phone with 5.8 mm thin chassis in engineering.
I was one of them, and after spending 24 hours with the Galaxy S25 edge, the value of my little day made me a little worried.
This is because with each passing hour, I can tell that the phone’s battery was falling much faster than the other phones used by me. However, I was taking a lot of photos and videos for the first few hours, which is not something I usually do regularly.
While my accurate use will be different from you, the way we are able to judge the battery life performance of a phone, it is to keep it through the battery benchmark test which provides more purpose results. Honestly, I am not surprised by the results here because it has the same hardware as the Galaxy S25 ultra – but with a very small battery. What did I get here
Galaxy S25 Edge Battery Capacity
To achieve its engineering Marvel with the Galaxy S25 Edge for Samsung, the company had to rote a very small battery in its Svelte frame. It is a 3,900 mAh battery cell, which is actually smaller than a 4,000 mAh battery in regular Galaxy S25.
There is clearly a size difference between them, but the Galaxy S25 Edge is actually close to the overall size of the Galaxy S25 Ultra – which packs a large -scale 5,000 mAh battery. It is about the size found in devices that make our best phone battery life list, but this difference between S25 Ultra and S25 Edge is huge. This is about 25% difference in battery capacity.

Our battery benchmark test allows us to receive a better idea of how they perform because it is standardized to ensure accurate results. Originally, the test involves imitation of continuous web surfing on a phone on cellular connectivity – until its battery is completely dried.
This is performed with a display set for 150 NITs of brightness with the use of a light sensor, so that the test corresponds to all the phones we test.
For the Galaxy S25 Edge, it draws at an average time of 12 hours and 38 minutes – much below the time recorded by the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Samsung’s flagship goes a distance with 17 hours and 14 minutes of time. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 manages to remove the lead by about 3 hours with its 4,000 mAh battery.
Interestingly, I asked Google Gemini to calculate the rate of battery shortage based on these findings. It is 308.71 mAh/HR for S25 Edge, 254.51 MAH/HR for S25, and 290.13 mAh/HR for S25 Ultra. Meaning, the Galaxy S25 Edge is the least efficient in this group.

I know that I can accept small battery life, assuming that its charging speed can help offset it. Despite having a small capacity battery, the S25 edge charges a tad at a slow pace compared to the Galaxy S25. In fact, the 25W wired charging speed of the S25 edge reaches 27% and 54% after charging it for 15 and 30 minutes respectively.
What about this is that the rest of the Galaxy S25 lineup is rapidly charged. Obviously it would have been better if Samsung opted to give S25 Edge the same 45W wired speed found with S25 Plus and S25 Ultra – which I suspect that it would be a tremendous difference, but it is not.
Outlook
However, it is clear that the battery life is the biggest agreement for the Galaxy S25 Age. It comes in the form that it is not surprising given the size of its battery. There is no way to outline today’s flagship for future ultra thin phones until the battery technology makes a revolutionary jump.
If you are ready to accept it to charge it more often, it will not be a matter of that worry. In addition, it is a good idea that when you do not have access to an outlet, investing in one of the best portable battery banks as backup is a good idea – because believe me, you will need it for the S25 age.
