I am on the Galaxy S25 Edge. There, I said. For all the propagation around my ultra-thin design, I have said how I want it was diluted in my Galaxy S25 Edge Review. In fact, the more I closely inspect it against other phones, the less I am convinced of Samsung’s claim that this is “remarkable achievement of engineering”.
I think this is a meaningless opportunity because thin phones are already everywhere, so you cannot let this marketing gimmick fool. Instead, Samsung should have saved its thin design for another phone that is very worthy – Galaxy Z Flip 7.
Given how Apple is taking his sweet time to release an iPhone flip/iPhone fold, Samsung can use it for its advantage to detect thin designs with its foldable phone, because let’s face it, foldables are very coolers than your simple slate phones. Here I think Galaxy Z Flip 7 is more worthy of a thin design.
Foldable phones are historically thin
I did not review the Motorola Razra Ultra 2025 long ago and completely forgot how thin it is from today’s standards – and it is a foldable phone, no less. Samsung wants us to believe that the Galaxy S25 Edge is a revolutionary step in the phone design, but I don’t think when I look at some of the best foldable phones in the vicinity.
Find the N5 as an example to Oppo, which when revealed at its thinnest point at 4.21 mm, actually defeats the 5.8 mm profile of the Galaxy S25 Edge. However, this is just one side of a phone. Compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 6, which when it appears, becomes a slate, the thin construction of the Galaxy S25 edge is not as enough. Is it thin? Yes, but it is not remarkably thin – despite how the number shows Flip 6 with 6.99 mm profile.
If the Galaxy S25 Edge Z was more than 50% thin than the Flip 6, I would be more suitable than that it is a notable achievement of engineering. But the reality is that foldable phones are carrying boundaries in terms of thinness and will continue to do so.
A large battery is expected with Z Flip 7

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is still very unknown; We are probably away from an officer with the notebook-style Galaxy Z fold 7. CAD files The alleged phone indicates that Z Flip 7 would have a thin of 6.94 mm when it has surfaced, which increases by 9.17 mm keeping in mind the cameras.
Reports also indicate that the Galaxy Z Flip 7 will have a 4,300 mAh battery – which can explain its coarse size on the Galaxy S25 Edge. If Samsung had to really trim its chassis to reach a 5.8 mm profile similar to the S25 edge, I suspect that the capacity of the battery should be too small, perhaps similar to the size of 3,900 mAh in the S25 edge.
Last year’s Galaxy Z Flip 6 does not necessarily have a very big battery benefit on its predecessor, but I will be satisfied with a small battery. If Samsung is able to trim the Z Flip 7 to be thinner as the S25 age in some way – then only if it achieves a sharp charging speed, which does not seem possible, if it does not seem possible, if it is not possible, if it is not possible. Not there. 25W speed is rumor,
Now, the way Samsung is the only way to throw a large battery into your flip-style phone, it is to increase its overall shape. This will naturally allow it to be a thin chassis because it would be long and wider. At this point, it is unlikely to happen how close we are of its potential to appear, but this is another example of how Samsung has given more attention with a thin design.
It is all about accepting the agreement

Suppose Samsung has made Galaxy Z Flip 7 with a 3,500 mAh battery. This is about 10% difference in the capacity of the battery on the S25 edge, but it can potentially make Z Flip 7 vaguely thin. Again, I will happily cure with a small size battery if it was given 45W charging speed similar to the Galaxy S25 Plus and S25 Ultra.
More importantly, however, a thin Galaxy Z Flip 7 will be an engineering work because it is a foldable phone to start. Also how the flip-style phones have different advantages on the slates, such as being able to Vlogate by combining better rear cameras with external screens, a thin design will definitely add to the appeal-much more than a slate.
All this only confirms my feelings about how it is a meaningless opportunity for Samsung, and how it should wait to do it with Galaxy Z Flip 7. At this point, I only look forward to next year’s model.
