We are unveiling the latest addition of our Galaxy S25 series lineup at just a week away from Samsung, and we have already seen the leaks of Samsung’s new Galaxy S25 Edge’s Glasses and images. At 5.8 mm thick, it is expected to be the world’s thinnest modern smartphone, and also features a double camera with 200MP main telephoto lenses.
Samsung is likely to reveal much more during its expected kenote next Monday, but like the best folding phone, a thin or folding performance often means challenges with durability. Today, Samsung has revealed a plan for this, and the Galaxy S25 Edge will be the first smartphone to introduce the new Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2.
Gorilla Glass Ceramic is the successor of ceramic 2 ceramic, which has protected the screen on the best smartphone for the last one year and has recently made its way to flip the phone with the new Motorola Razra Ultra 2025. Samsung EVP and Mobile Mechanical R&D head, Quangjin BaSaid:

Galaxy S25 Edge is the first smartphone to introduce this new glass. Samsung and Corning have not yet revealed much information about the latest security or how much this smartphone makes this smartphone. However, with more phones being thin and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to be one of the thinnest phones so far, it will be interesting to see if this security is exclusive to Samsung.
