Even though we got bad news that GTA 6 was delayed by May 2026 (ie, ie, we still do not know when it can eventually land on the PC), at least there was a ray of sunshine to go with the clouds of disappointment. Rockstar today surprised a new trailer, which gave us a nice long look at the game-and left us with some questions.
Crime, hidden between cars and clubs GTA 6 trailer… can these be some RPG-light elements that we see?
The evidence does not have a ton, but it is difficult to see Jason using a bench press in the trailer and does not think: is there just a part of a Cuttack, or something else? A screenshot of Lucia, a heavy bag in a gym, has surprised me whether to practice a skill, such as unarmed combat, makes him a better fighting. We also look at Jason’s hair change during the trailer, in which from a little stump to a small beard, his hairstyle is many times long, and at some points he looks more sunken than others.
Look, it can not mean anything. In GTA 5 you can change your hairstyle and change your hairstyle, and there are some minigmes such as golf that serve as activities but do not have a widespread impact on the gameplay. Weightlifting, punching bags, and changing facial hair of Jason can really indicate anything.
But it is a rockstar, which in the past, dubbed slightly with light RPG elements such as nutrition, weight and exercise: most specially in the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, where the food was not just anything that you scored below to restore some health.
GTA: In SA, food was a need, and players had to cook CJs every few days of in-game time or will lose weight and muscles. If he did not eat at all, the CJ would actually die of starvation.
Eating too much meant that he would increase weight in unhealthy amounts, which would make it unable to jump high or as long as there may be a more fit version of the CJ, it can run, and would make it stronger and more agile by spending time in working.
The system was not taken to the GTA 4 or GTA 5, but it had a touch in Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2. Arthur’s weight depends on what you have eaten and how often, and some aspects of the game will have a small impact. For example, a heavy Arthur will have a slightly less stamina than a slimmer Arthur, but a large health bar. Conversely, a thin arthur may last long, but a thick may suffer less harm than Arthur.
Arthur’s hair and beard will also grow in RDR2 over time, which means that if you want to be a smooth shaved then you will really have to go to the barber and get a beard. Your hair can also be affected by objects like hair tonic, making you grow long locks and a large shrubby beard. It is not clear whether this is so in GTA 6, but I would not be surprised if Jason’s hair grows over time. This is a good feature that makes the characters feel more real, so why not include it?
And even if the GTA: SA GTA 6 does not have light RPG systems, weightlifting can still have a gameplay effect, such as Yoga did in GTA 5. For Michael (the only playable character that could do yoga activity), practicing yoga was a way to raise its special ability (bullet time) slightly, so it was more from time to time. Maybe Jason Pumping Iron (and he is doing 265 pounds benching, which is not bad at all) makes him strong in GTA 6, and Lucia is working a bag. He makes him a better fighting.
I personally doubt that Rockstar will bring us back to the San Andreas-Stars of Food, Nutrition and Exercise: GTA is not a living game, and I do not think that most players were obsessed with constant managing all CJS weight and fitness. But I would not be surprised if some of these systems were given a mild touch in GTA 6, which we saw in RDR2. If this is quite good for Arthur Morgan, it is quite good for our two new lobrekers.
