For iOS 26, a lot has been said about Apple’s new design language, too much vaunted (or malicious) liquid glass. Apple’s latest design, which is somewhat based on Apple’s vision OS, is very different from what we have seen earlier.
However, while Apple showed a lot of new looks during the previous WWDC, if you like something, there is nothing like experience on hands to understand. When you can use developer beta for iOS 26, we will not recommend how it can negatively affect your devices and apps. Thankfully, public beta is rumored for release on 23 July, according to Mark Gurman, Meaning interested users can soon test it more easily.
Keeping this in mind, we break all the changes we see for liquid glass compared to the iOS18, which may soon come to you.
The liquid glass makes the iPhone screen more transparent.

When it comes on the home screen, the most noticeable change occurs when you activate the “all clear” mode. This will make your icon and widget look much more transcendent. However, we have heard a lot of reports, which at least in developer mode, it can affect readability. You can solve it with a low transparency option in settings, or by closing it completely.
If you stop all clearly, then the difference on iOS 26 home screen and iOS 18 is very low. For most parts, the only real evidence of liquid glass is on the dock under the screen, which is more transparent.
Overall, the icon on the iOS 26 homescreen is slightly larger than the iOS 18. It is also worth noting that some apps of Apple have changed, with some, like settings, offer slightly different shading, while others, such as the camera app, is fully designed.
Control center is not very different

For most parts, the control center is relatively identical in both iOS 18 and iOS 26, which differs from transparency brought by liquid glass. If you look at the screenshot above, you will see that you can clearly see your iPhone’s house or lock screen in the background in iOS 26. Meanwhile, gray tint is higher in the transparency of the iOS 18 version. Again, it can give rise to some issues to create writing in the iOS 26 version compared to the current one, but you can close a fair amount with a low transparency setting.
The lock screen of iOS 26 is very stylish

Of course, the lock screen of the iPhone provides the biggest difference between two operating systems. The new version provides a more styled watch that dynamically adjusts its size depending on the image you use, as well as the information you have.
Meanwhile, the icons and notifications also facilitate the most noticeable transport on the lock screen along with a new white text. The shortcut button for torches and cameras is also a minor specular highlight effect that they find more 3D than the iOS 18 version. There is also a new unlock effect that seems as if you are transferring a glass of glass instead of the simple slide-over animation seen in the lock screen of iOS 18.
IOS 26 introduces Dynamic tab bar and back lighting

One of the latest additions with iOS 26 is the beginning of the Dynamic Tab Bar in apps. This new time will depend on the fact that you are scrolling through an app or trying to take a specific action. The purpose of the new bar is to free the location that is usually taken by a stable bar, while the goal of being more comfortable.
At its top, the iOS 26 will allow the on-screen button and menu to be compatible with the background color. Now, this feature is available in iOS18, but the current version is very silent, with it it is only changing from gray to white. Meanwhile, the iOS 26 version that is behind it can be favorable for it, even when you scroll through your gallery.
IOS 26 Public beta will be very different

One thing to note is that, when the public beta eventually releases, it will probably be quite different from everything seen by us. So far, we have seen it in separate developer beta release. For example, the other iOS 26 Beta offered new transparency options, transferred the safari new tab button, and made changes to some apps and widgets.
Meanwhile, the third iOS 26 Beta added it more readable, new wallpapers and many other fix to the liquid glass to make more changes. For example, we would expect the first public beta developer to expect all recommendations and fix from Beta. It also goes for full public release, which can look very different.
On that note, if you plan to wait for the official launch of the update, we are hoping that it will be around mid -September, which will match the release dates of both iOS 18 and iOS 17.
