Snapchat is launching a new lens that allows users to create and edit images using a text-to-image AI generator, specifically explained Techcrunch. The new “imagine lens” is available to Snapchat+ Platinum and Lens+ Customers.
Imagine that the lens allows users to enter, edit and re -create snaps by entering their own signals. They can then share the image with their friends, post it on their story, or share it outside Snapchat.
While Snapchat already has many generative AI lenses, the company notes that the imagine lens is its first open quick image-generation lens.
Users can generate images using custom signals, such as “create an image of an angry cat” or “transform me into a foreigner.” The lens also has pre-loaded signs that people can use, such as “convert me four to five panels into comic, where there is some unexpected but brave,” “Make me into a strange caricature,” and “make this person a skidvive”.

Snapchat notes that users can always tap the caption bar to edit their prompts.
Earlier this year, Snap unveiled an AI text-to-image research model for mobile devices, stating that some features of Snapchat would be strengthened in future. While SNAP did not confirm that this model strengthens the new lens, it noted that its lenses are created using a combination of both in-house models and industry-agron AI models.
Snapchat+ platinum and lens+ subscribers can find new lenses in front of the lens or exclusive category. After selecting the lens, they can tap the caption to enter or edit the prompt. The cost of a platinum membership is $ 15.99 per month, while the cost of a lens+ membership is $ 8.99 per month.

Snap has been seen as a leader in AR, but has been investing in AI with almost every other technical company over the years.
A few months ago, the company launched a stand-alone lens studio iOS app and web tool, which was designed to make it easier for anyone to make AR lenses using AI and simple tools. And in March, it rolled its first video generative AI lens.
