Pokémon Scarlett and Violet have become the second best selling game of Pokémon sword and series ahead of Shield.
In New sale information Released during its latest investor call, Nintendo confirmed that the most recent mainline Pokémon Games sold 26.79 million copies. This means that they have managed to get ahead of the sword and shield, which has sent 26.72 million copies.
When you are talking about the sale of 20+ million, there is a very slight difference in those 70,000 units that some of the biggest sports of the nintendo switch have been managed, but they were sufficient to secret scarlets and violets in front of their immediate predecessors.
In those games, there is no possibility of ever claiming the crown of all time of the series. Pokémon Red, Blue, and Green still claim sales of over 30 million, giving them stripes before the competition. Gold and Silver put in a concrete attempt, but the switch games have occupied the fourth place from General 2.
Scarlett and Violet’s success is surprising given their performance issues. The games were postponed as the first open-world games of the Pokémon series, but one of the biggest criticisms imposed on them was his inability to take advantage of the processing power of the switch, such as other, often as old, nintendo titles effectively.
We still have a way from the next mainline Pokémon Games, but we will get to see Pokémon Legends: ZA later this year. This is unlikely to overtake scarlet and violet – its preceding, legends: Arceus, a respectable 15 million or so much sales. The release on Nintendo Switch 2 helps in selling upcoming entry, but we will be waiting till General 10 to see a real challenge.
