This USB-C cable may be the only cable you’ll ever need – here’s why

Gone are the days of most new tech items coming with a complete charging setup. Apple stopped offering wall adapters with its new products and other brands AmazonBundle them quietly so you feel like you’re really getting a deal – as is the case with many popular Kindle bundles. But don’t forget that there was a time when cables, adapters and all that stuff came in the box with your device.

Still, I guess we should be lucky that brands haven’t stopped supplying charging cords altogether. In most cases, you’ll find a USB-C or similar cord included with most tech-related purchases, such as iPhones, tablets, and more. But that doesn’t mean they are good.

Too: I always pack a $15 USB-C cable to avoid getting hacked at public charging ports

I’ve broken my fair share of cables. They crack, break, bend, split and sometimes simply stop working. Cheap replacements don’t always work, and I don’t recommend using third-party charging accessories that aren’t certified or don’t follow the proper standards. My biggest complaint with so many cables is that they don’t conform to the intended use – which includes bending, twisting, and more.

No one is sitting in the perfect position while charging their devices. We’ve all been strapped to our couch or bed, bent at different angles to maintain a reasonably comfortable position on our cord without endangering our charge (I know this because I’m doing so while writing this right now).

Thankfully, I finally found my answer. Static Key 360 Magnetic Charging Cable It is master of all arts – and it shines in the dark.

Yes, you read that right. This cord will never get lost between the cracks of your sofa or in the dark recesses behind your bed because it literally glows while charging. There’s also a plain black option if you prefer a classic look (but seriously, who doesn’t love a nostalgic light-up option?).

Too: My search for the best USB-C cable has ended – and it does everything

Behind the shiny novelty, this cable is incredibly functional. It comes with multiple adapters (USB-C, Micro USB and Apple compatible) that can be easily changed due to a strong magnetic connection. This makes this cord perfect for charging almost all of my favorite tech devices, from my iPhone 14 Pro (Lightning) to my Kindle (USB-C) to my iPad and beyond.

i personally use Pro model of this cordWhich supports charging speed up to 60W and data transfer up to 480 MB/s. Base version of this chord Best for smaller devices, but offers the same exact adapter, functions, and brightness options. The Pro Glow Cord costs around $23 for the 3 foot variety and the Base Glow Cord costs around $15. There is also a 6 foot tall option.

There are three different adapters included with Static’s cable.

The Globerite also has a rotating swivel head, so you can say goodbye to twisting your cords until they pop out. According to internal testing, Static says the cord can withstand over 20,000 turns and last up to 20 times longer than the average cable. I haven’t had my cable long enough to confirm or deny, but it seems significantly more durable than options I’ve used in the past, including Apple’s flagship chargers (which, honestly, aren’t that good).

And don’t worry about losing the teeny adapter, as the cable comes with a silicone organizer to keep everything neat and tidy.

Too: The only charging cable you’ll need to avoid tangle-up nightmares (and it’s cheap)

Overall, this has become my favorite charging cable to date, and I’ve had the opportunity to test it a lot as one of ZDNET’s mobile gadget experts. I included this selection in my recently published Best Stocking Stuffers gift guide, but it’s a great buy no matter what time of year you’re shopping. I’m also fond of some other static cords and cables, especially for simplicity and durability.

I use the PowerPivot Pro USB-C Cable I work with my MacBook 24/7/365, and I love it MagStack Slim Pro USB-C For travel and traveling (I keep it in my car). My colleague Adrian Kingsley-Hughes recently tested it MagStack Pro USB-C And is affected by it. I have one too and I love that it stays clean without any hassle. We also tested Static’s Snap N Charge mobile charger and 5-in-1 travel charger.

Why do I recommend this product?

of static globerite charging cable It makes it easy to charge all my favorite devices without having to worry about making sure I have the right cord, and I also love the bright light up feature. And for under $25, you really can’t go wrong. Thanks to its magnetic adapter you’re basically getting three wires at once, and in today’s economy you can’t beat that. Now is the time to remove your frayed wires.
