    Key takeaways of zdnet

    • Neon will pay you to share your phone call.
    • App sells your call recording to AI companies for training.
    • You can earn as $ 30 per day.

A new app is promising to give you hundreds of or thousands of dollars per year. And you just have to share your phone conversations for the purpose of a training. Yes, there is always a grip.

Free for iPhone owners through Apple’s app store And on Android users Google Play StoreA new program called Neon – Money Tox will pay you for some phone conversations that you share with the company behind the app. Recording of your phone calls is then passed with AI developers who use the natural language to train their chatbott.

Before Near the top of the chart Among the most popular free apps in the app store. This should mean that many people are ready to prepare their privacy for sale, at least at the right price.

Before I come down very hard on this whole concept, let’s go through fine points.

    How neon works

Calls made or obtained through the Neon app are recorded only. You have any conversation out through regular phone apps on your iPhone or Android phone.

Neon will pay you 30 cents per minute when you talk with another neon user. In that case, both sides of the conversation have been lodged. You will get 15 cents per minute when you talk with a non-nione user. Here, only your end of the call is recorded, or at least shared.

You can earn a maximum of $ 30 per day by sharing your call with neon. The company will also offer $ 30 referral fee for each person that you celebrate to use the app.

Also: How Google’s new AI model protects privacy without renouncing performance

For your privacy, Neon has promised that it is an anonymous of your call, which means that it removes name, number, address and other PIIs (personally identifiable information) before sharing the call. According to Neon, call recording is encrypted and sold only to reliable and AI companies.

After installing and opening the app, you are asked to share your phone number for verification purposes. You are then motivated to enter your first name and email address and agree with terms and conditions. To dive, you will then call a phone call through Neon as you will with another calling app.

However, to qualify, you have to follow some rules. You should have a normal phone call, which means real, two-way interaction. No long silent call with any conversation, no one is putting his phone on the speakerphone and is not talking to another person, and no one is playing pre-ridded audio.

To pay, as soon as you score your first ten cents, you can cache your earnings. After cashing on a payment, you will usually be paid within three business days.

Also: Great of Tor browser – but for more complete privacy security, you need to add it

Depending on the popularity of Neon, many people look fine with this full idea. You have control the process as the calls made through the app are recorded only. The neon promises to anonymity and remove personal details. And I think in this era of AI and social media, more people seem completely fine to share private tidbits of their lives. In addition, many AIs already try to capture the natural language used in their chats. So why is it not paid for this?

“Telecom companies are shutting down your data, and we think you are worth a cut,” Neon says about it Question page“With your consent, we process your call recording, removes all personal information, and sell anonymous audio to companies training AI.”

But I still ask the question: At what cost, privacy? Do you really want some AIs to vacuum your personal phone calls, even with data? Is it worth some dollar in a day? They are some questions that you want to ask yourself whether you are thinking of giving a shot to Neon.
