Arc Linux has a reputation to be very complex, unstable, and not for all. For those reasons, many distribution have emerged that try to spread the arches to the public. Many of them (eg Manjaro and Endevoros) are quite well successful. However, not all those forks of the arch have been made equal.
For example, Lia linuxThis distribution was made and maintained by an individual to be an arch-based Linux distribution that is simple to install, but still completes all types of users (from those new to Linux to those who are around the open source block a few hundred times). Liya Linux is designed for developers, students and tinkers. Is Liya Linux a distribution for those who have never used Linux? This is a matter of debate, because Arc Linux is not actually a distribution to the public. However, Liya Linux Calamares uses installer, so it is as easy to install this operating system as it becomes.

Liya defares for cinnamon desktop (the same desktop used on Linux mint), so UI is familiar enough to use anyone. If you do not like cinnamon, there is always a friend. Of course, in my opinion, cinnamon and friends are as much as you can get (without being really similar). Certainly, there are subtle differences, but on the surface, cinnamon and friends can also be brothers, cuts with the same cloth.
One of the most attractive aspects of Liya Linux is that it is adapted to both V2 and V3 microoricateur (think of old and new hardware). Additionally, Liya Linux does not collect or transmit any telemetry and runs bare minimum services to ensure that it is both private and safe. But how is this in the real world test? lets chat.
first impressions
I am not going to lie: I have always found cinnamon desktop boring. This is not to say that it is not effective. it is. Extremely. But for my taste, cinnamon is very “like windows” to air on my desktop.
It is being said, cinnamon Liya works very well on Linux. The developer configured the desktop to find out that it is a no-brother to find out. You have a desktop menu in the lower-right corner, launcher on the panel, a system tray, and a single clickable icon that takes you Liya GNU/Linux ForumThis platform is not the most busy that I have ever experienced, but the introduction post alone makes it worth seeing, because it has a lot of information that you want to read before diving.

Liya Linux also misses for the brave browser, which finds me the most obvious option for a distribution that keeps itself in the market as private and safe. Another interesting option is the option to go with only desktop editors instead of the Libraoffis.
I am very fond of this office suit because it allows me to work locally and through the cloud host. This means that I can work with sensitive information on my local drive and low sensitive information on the cloud host (where I want to easily share those documents with others). Even if you are unfamiliar with desktop editors, it is very user friendly and allows you to work with documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and PDF. You can also integrate AP in the APP (if you choose this).

You also get GNOME EncFS manager, which allows you to work with encrypted directors for even more protection.
As I go through the desktop menu, it is clear that the developer has made every option with the objective and this purpose is to serve the user in such a way that the operating system is in line with-“A clean, fast, arc-based distribution for those who build with the objective, no noise.”

And, of course, there is a timeshift, which is a system restoration utility. Timeshift allows you to take Snapshots of your working OS, so if something should be wrong, you can always roll it back to a working image. With timeshift, you can set it to create an automatic snapshot on boot, per hour, daily, weekly or monthly. With this app, you can be sure that you will always have a working example of your operating system.
Timeshift makes it easier for your OS to create a restoration point.

Should you try Liya Linux?
From my perspective, the only thing missing from Liya Linux has the ability to easily share folders in a network. I think why Samba is not involved (because the developer wants to keep the running services minimum), but I think Samba should be considered in addition, especially this distribution is aimed at “tinkerter”.
Even with the lapse, Liya Linux is an arc on Linux who will appeal to those who are looking for a minimum desktop operating system that takes privacy and security seriously, thanks to GNOME Encfs, brave, at least a minimum number of running services and zero collection of telemetry and user data.
