Nine years later, AutoDS now generates hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue and has brought in more than $150 million in dropshipping revenue for its more than 100,000 paying customers, Pozin says. When a user wants to complete an order using AutoDS, they must pay for the credits required to complete it. AutoDS also gets a cut of each sale from its suppliers.

Pozin says that AutoDS grew because he took an “aggressive” approach to development. For example, for the first five years, he took a “very minimum salary” and invested almost 100% of the company’s profits back into the business.
Recruitment was one of the most challenging aspects of building the company. Budgetary constraints made it difficult to appoint the right people to the right positions.
Pozin addressed that challenge by taking a “slow” approach and hiring only after seeing proof of concept for that specific need. For example, if he wants to run a Google campaign, he’ll first figure out how to create a campaign. Only when he has proven himself that it is worth it will he appoint someone else to take on that responsibility.
