I am still using an M1 MacBook Pro for video editing, and it doesn’t feel like a computer since five years ago!
A Fatter, Retro Plastic McBook will sell like hotcakes
The other iPhone that could serve as an inspiration for the MacBook SE was a depressed short -term iPhone 5C, which was the direct erstwhile of the iPhone SE. Here Apple’s strategy was to use inexpensive materials, and 5C remains the only plastic iPhone as far as I can tell. If Apple takes some inspiration from older ibooks, we can have an interesting product that also gets around the cost of accurate-engineering and manufactures a metal unibody laptop. This laptop should not be thinner enough to pieces the vegetables, and modern plastics are very great in any way, so there is no issue when it comes to making something durable.
The $ 999 is a large interval below the price point that is just begging for a McOS-operated laptop, and even the new Mac Mini’s popularity supports some extent, I think. Perhaps this is just a wishful thinking, but it looks like a missing opportunity.
