If you’re in the market for a new Android phone, head over to Best Buy, where the retailer has discounted several OnePlus models. You can buy for a limited time 256GB OnePlus 13R Astral Trail (white) or Nebula Noir (black) for $550 – $50 off.

Also: I ditched Google Maps for this free alternative that doesn’t track me — or drain my battery.

This deal applies to the unlocked version of OnePlus 13R. If you connect the mobile device to Verizon or AT&T, the price drops even further to $450.

OnePlus 13R is the midrange version of OnePlus 13. Although it’s not as powerful as a flagship, the 13R still manages to impress. For starters, it has a 6.78-inch AMOLED touchscreen that supports both Dolby Vision and HDR10+ to deliver stunning visual output. The interesting thing about the display is that it comes with Aqua Touch. According to ZDNET contributing writer Parkhar Khanna, who reviewed the phone earlier this year, it’s a unique feature that “allows you to use the phone in the rain… without the water droplets registering as a tap”.

    Review: OnePlus 13R

Inside, the smartphone runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, coupled with 12GB of RAM, ensuring fast and fluid performance. The device uses OxygenOS 15 operating system. The OS not only offers a clean-looking interface, but it is also expected to get “four years of OS updates and six years of security updates.”

Other notable features of oneplus 13r It includes a large 6,000mAh battery to deliver all-day power, 80W fast charging that allows the phone to charge from zero to full in about 30 minutes, and an IP65 resistance rating.

    How I evaluated this deal

According to ZDNET’s rating system, I give the deal a score of 1/5. That $50 off the 256GB OnePlus 13R isn’t a huge price drop, admittedly, but it’s a nice bonus on top of a midrange phone. It is much cheaper than the OnePlus 13 and performs at the same level. I recommend this mobile device to those who want to upgrade, but who cannot afford the premium price.

According to OnePlus, this deal ends on October 19.
