- Silverstone’s FLP01 case brings the attraction of old school, which is completed with fake floppy drives and retro lights
- Arkhive Business Limited RTX comes with 5060 ti and provides real creative power
- Noktua cooling keeps retro shell while modern internal all perform heavy lifting
ARC has unveiled a curious mixture of nostalgia and modern performance with its desktop system, “Arkive Business Limited”, which is now available through PC Shop Arc.
The Japanese device is placed in the Silverstone’s FLP01 case, designed after the Classic 1980s PC -9801, and has a specific styling, including a fake 5.25 -inch bay cover and mock indicator lights.
Vintage can provoke the beige memories of esthetic dial-up tone and DOS prompt, but its internal suggests to be somewhat more capable, perhaps even worthy of using video editing or workstation PCs, if only the glasses are judged.
Nostalgia meets modern power
The base models come in two CPU versions: Intel’s Core Ultra 7 265 and AMD’s Rven 7 9700x. Both models are paired with 32GB RAM and a 2TB NVME SSD, and cooled using a Nuttua Air Cooler, which is a name honored for silence and efficiency rather than flare.
The graphics are controlled by the new GeForce RTX 5060 TI, whose 16GB Vram keeps it square in the middle-range performance bracket.
Although it cannot win over hardcore gamers, it should be more than enough for creative professionals and can make the system a viable business PC for people requiring GPU acceleration in Adobe apps or 3D workloads.
Physically, PC measures 440 x 362 x 170 mm, a footprint that is not particularly compact by modern standards.
It comes with Windows 11 Home Preinstall and includes 80plus Gold 850W power supply.
However, with the price tag of 299,800 yen (approximately $ 2,081), there is a lack of a standard optical drive (until a limited time is added through a limited time campaign), some questions may be as to justify the retro shell cost.
PC Shop Arc Now the full BTO (build-to-order) is accepting the order with options, allows for further adaptation.
The company appears to be banking on a mixture of apathy and performance to attract buyers, but Arkive Business Limited may appeal more heartfelt than the head.
