- Cruciel’s X10 SSD fits 8TB in a drive barely with your credit card
- Read speed 2,100 MB/s hit, but only some users will repeat in ideal conditions
- Important T710 Gen5 speed speed is 14,900 mb/s – on paper, at least
SSDs with large capacity packed in compact designs attract attention, as users seek storage solutions that add portability, display and adequate space that handle growing digital demands.
In Computex 2025, Crusal’s original company Micron unveiled two new portable SSDs: important X10 and important T710 PCIE Gen5 NVME SSD.
Important X10 is part of the company’s high -capacity portable drive, which offers 4TB, 6TB and 8TB storage, even if the device is barely larger than a pile of credit cards.

It claims that the old but large important X10s read the speed of up to 2,100MB/s. It uses SM2322 controller, an IP65 dust and water resistance rating, and drop-testing up to about 10 feet.
According to important, X10 500,000 4K photos, more than 100 big video games, or can store more than 2 million mp3 files – although this number depends a lot on file types and compression.
Nevertheless, an 8TB drive it is small unusual and will possibly appeal to anyone tired of jugging several small SSDs or external HDDs.
“Our X10 Portable Drive is a powerhouse, which is easily handling large -scale backup, game and photo library – no matter where life takes you or it throws your way. This innovation with our tireless efforts to cross the storage needs of our customers.”
Meanwhile, internal significant T710 PCIE targets the performance segment with Gen5 support and speed and reaches 14,900MB/s reid and 13,800MB/s.
It uses Micron’s G9 Nand and SM2508 controller of silicon motion and is clearly designed keeping in mind the AI workload and high-end gaming.
Random IOPS figures reach 2.2 million to read and 2.3 million to write, however, as important notes, these results were obtained under ideal conditions using crystaldiscMark, which is disabled to reduce the system overhead with cash competent and windows facilities. The actual world performance will vary.
Important claims that T710 provides 67% more IOPS per watt than the previous model and can load large language models like LLAMA 2 in memory under a second.
T710 will be available in capabilities up to 4TB and will include an alternative heatcink for a limited thermal headroom system. Important X10 is now available, while T710 is expected to ship in July 2025.
