Instagram Threads, Meta contestant X, on Tuesday Launched Two new features as part of your plan to integrate with open social web, known as Feders. Now the threads users will be able to see posts from other users on the feders within a dedicated feed, if they have chosen the option of sharing Feders on the threads. In addition, people will be able to search for Feders users directly in threads.
Federed users’ posts will be found on the following tabs of the threads app. They do not appear to suit other posts of thread users, however. Instead, you will tap on a link at the top of the feed to see these posts in a separate feed.
Threads can pull posts made on federed apps such as Mastodon, Bookwiram, Rightfreilli, and others, with more services over time.
According to threads engineer Peter CotleyUsers will see the top-level posts from the federes in this feed but Are not able to answer yet(They can see Feders responding to their own positions, but it is in a separate part of the app.)

In addition, the threads user threads app will be able to find and find Feders profiles, including WordPress bloggers, who have activated Feders sharing, flipboard users and others on Mastodon.
The features are designed to feel threads like a federated app, which means that one is connected to a broad network of interconnected social media servers that create a decentralized open social web.
Although threads have not met this integration, with more than 350 million monthly active users, this is the largest app on the activity protocol, which strengthens the X rival Mastodon and other federated apps.
Launched first in July 2023, Threads have taken inspiration from traditional social networks like Aaj Tak, as well as working on open sources protocols like Mastodon and Bluuski. Like Blussky, threads also introduced their version of the Starter Pack along with the concept of custom feeds, helping users to follow people. And like Mastodon, threads are tied directly into the federes, allowing people to join others that are not directly on threads.
Since its inception, threads have introduced characteristics that allow their users to choose to share their posts on Federes, see answers to those on Mastodon on their posts, follow the profiles of users on other Feders servers, and see that they follow them in turn.
In June, Threads expanded the efficiency of sharing functionality for the European Union after the pre -launch in US, Canada and Japan. Meta says that threads have interacted with more than 75% of the Feders servers since launching the Feders sharing feature a year ago.
However, the company has not yet provided an update, when it will be completely integrated with the federations, nor will it introduce the account portability. This will allow threads users to move their account elsewhere if they never fixed meta policies as per their choice. It is an important aspect for open, decentralized apps, as it controls users instead of platforms.
