    Thrstmaster T128: One-minute review

Thrstmaster T128 is a budget racing wheel designed for those after the initial-friendly experience. It is quite low, with its old gamer styling failing to create a great impression. The wheel is quite small in itself and has a thin rim, which will suit some hands more than others.

In terms of premium design, T128 is reduced by introducing some rivals. Although it is certainly not flarened, it is hardly a premium feeling unit, in which the cost-saving material is employed on all.

It is at least quite lighter and small, which helps to make installation and setup easier than some of the best racing wheels. I found the clamping mechanism too much better, which I have tried that other thrustmaster has been used on wheels.

However, the installation is interrupted to some extent from the strange placements of the ports, which is inaccessible when the wheel is inaccessible when dropping the base. This means that at any time you want to remove or add different cables, you have to completely uninstall the wheel, which is inconvenient.

What is more, T128 will not be installed on some dedicated stands, such as GT Omega Apex I have, because there are no screw holes to fix the wheel base straight.

Once established, however, T128 is hurry to go. For Xbox users, this is a simple case of plug-end-play, although a PC tool is required for firmware updates. With a generous selection of parameters considering the budget nature of T128, there is also a tool for creating force reaction and other twice.

T128 is even better in action. I was pleasantly surprised how responsible and connected it is, causing it to be happy with the race. Force feedback settings, as I have tried, are very strong on their highest settings for my choice, with other thrustomaster wheels, although here it is probably slightly weaker than normal.

T2PM paddles are good and light, which makes them easy to use, although the brake pedals lacks resistance, it can make it difficult to gauge how difficult you are making it. This is still enough usable, however, and I had no problem with the relatively tight layout of the paddle.

All things were considered, providing a lot of fun for T128 paise, outlining many other wheels and even better than some more expensive offerings of the thrustmaster. It cannot have a standout design, but there are not many wheels at this price that offer such good times.

Thrstmaster T128 Review: Price and Availability

    • $ .919.99 / £ 149.99 (About AU $ 312)
    • Now available
    • Cheaper

The cost of T128 is $ .919.99 / £ 149.99 (around AU $ 312) and is now available. A playstation compatible version is also available. This makes T128 one of the cheapest in the line-up of the thrustmaster, and is one of the best Xbox racing wheels for those on a budget. For example, I was more influenced by the T300RS, which is comparatively more expensive yet, although its design is more premium.

If you are looking for another great value racing wheel, Logitech G920 is another very capable option. It is still much more expensive than the T128, but the construction quality is far better, and the performance is excellent in all aspects.

Thrstmaster T128 Review: Design and Features

    • Cheap but functional
    • Easy to light and install
    • It looks more advanced than software tools

T128 does not make a great first impression. Its content looks inexpensive, and the styling is quite old, with some touch that panders gaming crowds, return in a past era.

The wheel itself is small and the rim is quite thin, which will make it ideal for young players and people with small hands. As a whole, the unit is also very light, which makes it easy to install and move around, and yet it looks stunningly strong at the same time.

It is a similar story with T2PM pedal sets, which is too light and small, which means that the layout may be a bit tight for something. However, it managed to stay on the carpet surface on which I used it, and seems to be much more sustainable than you can expect.

A grip I have with a pedal set, however, has its length. It is very young, which meant that I could not take it behind my desk; Instead, I had to let it be right next to me, which is not ideal.

Another defect of the design of T128 is a bad port placement. When the wheel base is placed on a desk, the ports are inaccessible, meaning that you have to attach various cables before installation, which makes the process slightly more strange. This also means that you have to unplay the wheel at any time, which you want to unplug or connect them again.

Fortunately, the clamping system is easy to use, and I tried is much better than other thrustmaster wheels. The screw has a plastic handle, which is easy to bend and lock in place, as well as easily accessible.

There is an pleasing selection of the button on T128 and they touch almost as much as you will find on the best Xbox controllers. You get close to full Xbox layout with some additional inputs, such as two handbrack buttons and a RSB and LSB button, which are compatible with only a few games.

T128 also has paddle shifters, which are better than my expectation. They do a little curve to help secure your fingers, and their position is ideal, if slightly kept inward, which can make them a stretch to reach them several times.

The installation of T128 is a simple process, especially for Xbox users, which only have to plug it into its console. However, with other thrustmaster wheels, as soon as you power T128, be sure to keep out well, as it immediately fires its self-calibration feature. Thankfully, it is not so violent with other thrustmaster wheels, but still it is worth noting.

To update the firmware, you have to download the PC tool for this purpose. There is also a tismelting tool, known as the thrustmaster control panel, which looks underdeveloped and lacks purification, but is misleading.

It functions well and provides a pleasant amounts of tweex, including several parameters to the force reaction. Then, all this is very welcome to a budget racing wheel like T128.

    Thrstmaster T128 Review: Performance

    • Fun and accurate steering
    • Lots of force response settings
    • Break pedal is a little lighter

T128 acquits itself very well while racing. The steering is accurate and responsible, with a lot of experience and capable of offering smooth and rapid movements in similar measurements.

With other thrustmaster wheels, the force reaction is very strong – much more on its maximum setting, although perhaps still less than other models. But once appropriately adjusted, T128 provides surprisingly fine immersion, although there is a buzzing sensation that is sometimes slightly higher.

Paddle shifters are solid and staggering, in which they are simply moist enough to make them satisfactory to flick. They also provide enough response, and I wondered how capable they were on the wheel of this budget.

I was also a pleasant surprise from the T2PM pedal set. I found them quite fun and easy to use, due to their light activation. Tight layout did not cause an issue for me, despite complaints with equally tight designs on other pedal sets.

However, there is a decrease in some extent reaction in the brake pedal, which can make it difficult to decide how much pressure it has to be done. But overall, both throttle and brakes provide adequate control for modified input.

T128 also has a gear change indicator in the form of multicolored LEDs, known as 4 engine speed display RPM LED, although I was found to be quite immense in this practice. For example, while playing Forza motorsportTheir progress was not all smooth, and seemed to reach its peak before the in-game indicator. Nevertheless, it is a welcome feature for a basic view Q, especially if you prefer to play with a camera angle that leaves from looking at the steering wheel.

    How I tested Thrstmaster T128

    • Tested for a day
    • Played racing sims
    • Experience to review racing wheels

I tested T128 for a day, climbing it on a desk. Unfortunately, it is not compatible with some racing stand, such as GT Omega Apex that I have, because there is no way to stick the wheel with a screw or bolt.

It should also be noted that the wheel is not compatible with cloud gaming or other streamed games; It only works with the game downloaded on your console or drive.

I Forza motorsport On an Xbox series s, which is a competent racing sim on the console that provides a sterling test for racing wheels. I set the in-game steering setting in simulation mode and stopped all driving aid.

I have been gaming for decades and are one of my favorite games to play racing sims. I have experienced many different racing wheels and reviewed different models, including others created by the thrustmaster.
