Tiktok is testing a new messaging tool called “Bulletin Boards”, the social network confirmed Techcrunch on Friday. This feature allows brands and creators to share its followers public, one to one message. Bulletin boards are similar to the facility of broadcasting channels of Instagram which were launched in 2023.
Like with broadcast channels on Instagram, only a bulletin board manufacturers can only post messages, and followers are limited to release emoji responses. Bulletin board text, image and video posts support.
This feature was spotted earlier Threads users Christina Garnet.
The idea behind the convenience is to allow the creators and brands to share the contents of updates and back and forth and attach to their followers in a more direct way. For example, instead of posting updates through a story or regular post on Tiktok, the brand and manufacturers can share them on their bulletin board. This facility also sends the facility to the followers to promote accounts.

Some early features include Peepal Magazine, Paris St.-Germen FC and Jonas Brothers.
Given that the bulletin board is a test facility, it is unknown whether Tikok has planned to roll it more widely. In addition, it is possible that Ticketkok may add more functionality. Instagram’s broadcast channels, for example, post election to creators.
The launch of bulletin boards is the latest example of a social network borrowing features. Back in 2022, Tikokok launched stories with support of photos, to take on Instagram. Of course, Instagram copied the entire playbook of Tikok with the launch of reel in 2020.
