The way Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater Series made skateboarding more acceptable through the gameplay, it also brought alternative culture to the homes of players around the world from time to time. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4, which certainly combines the remake of the most beloved entry into the series with a follow -up, which represents the first major deviation in a homogeneous package, masterly re -creates the gameplay of these games. The ThPS 3 + 4 is going to please any fan of the series, and it will expose these games in 2001 and 2002 to new people for filled entertainment. However, it struggles not to familiarize the context of these games already with their history, erasing the above deviation in this process.
Booting Thps 3 + 4 seems to have done it on my playstation 2 more than two decades ago, and Hopping was a developed moment in my first run. This is a clich, but these games look as good as my rose-tinted glass origin appears in my memories (and after watching some old gameplay videos, those rose-tinted glasses are a ton of a ton of heavy lifting). However, the same cannot be said for NPCs; They still look ridiculous.

A part of the appeal of ThPS has always been ease of access to skateboarding culture, the way MTV and donkey It affects it and vice versa, and the way it shapes music and fashion sense for players around the world. Despite enjoying the gameplay of 3 + 4, I struggled with the game throughout my full time to see that approach. If you do not already know about the location of the series in pop culture, this remake does nothing to bring you to speed. I will argue a remake, in particular, there is no need to do so, but given that Iron Galaxy includes additional, more modern songs, updated brands, new skates, and more, it is clear that it is 3 + 4 to fit in 2025. However, despite the inclusion of these touchstones of modern culture, like quick visits for breath and forks, which are prepared in a way, incidents around the world, or why these games were so impressive in early agets.
All this became more clear when I reached half of the package. The career mode of THPS 4 was sanded down to fit well within the rest of the original games rather than standing out as the new direction of the series. ThPS 4’s open world-light nature, which served as a published scene in the form of an increase in the underground of Tony Hawk such as underground and American Westland and Skate Culture society, which has increased in society; In place, a list of two -minute timer and a list of goals, like the first three matches. It is, eventually, is a smart call and makes for a better game. But even when I was at 100 percent at its levels, I could not help, but asked myself, “Does it make for a better remake?”
Although I like the Remedic version of 4 because it appears in this package, it loses many of its identity. Homogenizing thips 4 strips away which made it different. Although it is a better experience to play in the remake easily, with its more streamlined focus, it looks like the THPS 3 add-on than the remake of a fourth game. This is not a modern way of playing 4; This is a different way of playing 4.
That said, that is essentially converting the ThPS 4 into a level pack for THPS 3, the best in the series, is incredibly satisfying from the point of view of a pure gameplay. The two-minute run version of these games is the best way to detect and learn these levels, and new collectible placements, secret decks, secret shop unlock, and skater state hidden during each breath, these familiar hangs are hidden in new life. I enjoyed that gathering cash and data at each level directly affected my manufactured-scorpion progress, allowing them to feel unique in a stacked roster of classic professionals and chain newcomers that make sense in the remake.
Although reception is “game modes” that allows you to change how much time is one run, many others as well as perfect manual and grind balance or nevar-bale settings, Iron Galaxy Studio has implied that the best way to play a two-minute run. To remove each level from the blank space in a naturally delightful manner on a timer. “Okay, this run I am going to focus on this half-pipe to reach this run, and my next run, I will focus on gathering skate letters,” I have my full-time views with the game.

And just when I started getting bored with a level when I collected everything and meeting my goals, the next level was waiting for me, ready to refresh my interest and Anand. It was particularly in the Iron Galaxy Studio of three new levels, which was designed for THPS 4, especially. These are incredible achievements of creativity, which you know and love classic levels, both combo-creating eranas and Easter egg-infected playgrounds.
While the name means a pro skateboarding experience, ThPS is actually a rolling platformor collectthon above a skateboard. This target-based collectthon has a tonne meat, but save for some shake-up for the formula with competition levels, if you don’t like it, you will move away from the table.

Multiplayer offers the type of shake-up, which I left after poring through single-player career mode, challenging me in various types of arcade experiences. While the rules vary, each eventually boils for high scores and long combo at the same levels from career mode. I am having a lot of fun in the multiplayer suit of THPS 3 + 4, but this is not without its minor cavets.
I am shocked that there is no level voting between the rounds; You play at level 3 + 4 which selects you randomly. I am confused with the lack of playlist options; There is only a Moshpit mode that randomly decides the next minigames that you will play, which does not include a player option, and two more modes that are particularly new additions. New Hawk Mode, which works with you hiding Hawk letters around a level to find other skates, and the free skate option, which lets you rotate in a level with seven other skates, however, there are welcome additions. Create-a-park suite is easy to use and is more streamlined than ever, but it’s something I look forward to finding because more players get their hands on it (I could ever do a better park).
The ThPS series shaped my music taste, fashion sense, and more, while also gave an incredibly fun time on my playstation 2. An ideal remake of these games will do the same even after all these years, or at least remind me why they were so effective when I was growing up. While Iron Galaxy has excellently modernized these classics gameplays and graphics to feel right in 2025, I wish, it had done a better job to highlight these games once in its successor.
