Truecaller announced on Wednesday that it had crossed three million paying customers globally. This growth has been attributed to the new features added in its paid consumer offer that allows users to take advantage of artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities for call screening and spam protection. The Swedish Caller Identification App also recorded a 16 percent increase on the iOS platform compared to 31 March, when 0.86 million customers were recorded on Apple devices.

Truecaller is one of the most widely used collar IDs and spam detection services in the world. The company revealed that it had recently acquired two milestones. First, the number of customers paying globally was more than three million on May 17, above 2.86 million which was recorded on 31 March.

Second, the Caller ID app also reported an increase in its iOS subscriber count, which increased from 0.86 million on 31 March to more than one million till 17 May. This is transformed into an increase of about 16 percent during the period. In particular, Truecaller had a total of 2.82 million customers and 0.82 million on iOS on 31 December.

In a statement of Truecaler’s CEO, “Our premium users today get many valuable products such as our A-Assistant, Advanced Spam Blocking Opportunities and Fraud Insurance.”

According to the company, this growth is courtesy of the recently offered facilities offered on the stage. The most recent addition is message ID that helps users to filter authentic messages in an inbox, which is rapidly filled with spam texts, availing AI. The app was peripherally equipped for the iPhone over the years. Dealing with the pain point of iOS users, it introduced API support, which enables a real-time collar identity with live collar ID as well as automated blocking of spam telephone calls in January.

It also rolled out a premium family plan, which allows five people to be onboarding in a single plan at a low monthly or annual price. This membership also bundles fraud insurance in India.
