As the sun starts glowing, we are all telling each other how cute the weather is and what heat we plan. And then, very quickly, we start complaining because it is suddenly Very Hot, especially inside our homes.

Sleeping at night is seriously uncomfortable and heat makes everyday tasks completely difficult – even when you are practicing ‘cave method’ throughout the day. If, like me, you are searching for a strict search for solutions to cool your home, then you can get into the technique of using aluminum foil to defeat the heat.

A simple household item is used to wrap the remaining or wrapping your baking sheet, actually can act as an incredibly easy way to reflect light away from your home. Just by tapping the foil on your windows, you can get sunlight through your glass windows and prevent your home from heating. While it seems very simple, there are 3 common mistakes that you are doing.

    1. Cover inside your window, not out

It is easy to assume that you should lining your windows from inside because you are providing coverage, right? Wrong. Yes, the foil feels that it is keeping the light out because you won’t see it, but you are still allowing the sun to heat your real windows.

By doing this, you are not preventing the heat from going in, it is just gathering behind the foil. So, it will not go away because you are not covering the actual windows. You should get out and keep it there. This is not the most attractive design for your home, but you won’t care when you are sitting inside a beautiful and cool house.

    2. Thin foil

While this is attractive to reach your everyday foil because you have already received it in your house, it may not be the right pick. The thin foil is not durable and will not reflect heat for a long time as a heavy duty roll. Therefore, in the long run, it can give you more costs if you have to get through more thin foil to ensure that your house remains good.

Also remember, if you are tapping the foil outside your windows, you have to be out in the heat that replaces it. Heavy duty foil will last for a long time and will also do better. In addition, it will also prevent your window nest from cracking from heat.

    3. Do not add a protective layer

Although it is not an essential step of applying aluminum foil on your windows, it is a beneficial, if you have got time. As mentioned above, when foil is used to remove heat, sometimes it can leak around it in window nervousness that puts them at risk of cracking.

You can help prevent this from happening by adding a protective layer of your windows before tapping aluminum foil. So, instead of throwing your cardboard into garbage, reuse it!

This will absorb any heat that makes it through your foil and ensures that your windows remain cold. The hot foil can also leave behind a relic, but if you have got the cardboard down, it will leave it there instead of your windows.
