VTECH Kidijum Duo FX: Two-minute review
I reviewed the head of my five -year -old daughter, reviewing the duties for the Vtech Kidizoom duo FX, a popular cheap compact camera for young children, which can be lifted for the least $ 45 , £ 40 On major retailers like Amazon.
It was time to listen to her thoughts when she used for a few months. “What do you like the most about camera?” i ask. I can predict the answer to a word before leaving her lips: “Game!”
To be fair, Kidizoom Duo has used more than many other toys, gadgets and cameras for children in our home, but I raised a raise for him in the hope that he could be motivated to become the next Vivian Mair, not to play basic games on the board.
She can develop a creative eye with time well over time and start taking great pictures, but it will not be a kidzum pair that sends her to that path.
He said, when I focused my focus on Kidizoom Duo’s camera, he found it incredibly easy to use it. There is a generous grip for both hands that were perfectly shaped for her small hands, and it has come away from many accidents and ignore the droplets on the rigid surfaces.
She can apply various animated filters in photos, which have brought many smiles in the months, even though the basic photo quality is rarely motivated-it is not that I will expect anything better than such a low-cost camera.
Practically, the use of four regular AA batteries is a pain. After less than two days the first batch was flat (you had estimated – mainly from playing the game). I invested in a rechargeable battery, which has been more cost effective in the long run.
Better battery life topped my daughter’s list of reactions to the question “Can this camera improve?”, As well as more color options for finish. And from my perspective, better quality photos can inspire him to use the camera more.
Will I recommend feature-pack VTECH Kidizoom Duo FX as the first camera? Absolutely. No other camera comes close at this super-less price. Will it inspire your youth to do photography? Probably not.

VTECH Kidijum duo FX: Design
- Right Pink or Blue Hard Plastic Body
- 2.4 inch LCD and Luke-Through Viewfinder
- Original flash
Kidizoom is a very easy camera to control the duo. It has large buttons for major functions, including a joystick to navigate the menu and a control wheel for 4x digital zoom.
Twin viewers are simple windows, nothing is fancy, space is done so that the user can see both, the telescope-style. My daughter barely used a viewfinder, however, instead her focus focuses on the original fixed 2.4-inch LCD, which could be very difficult to look into bright light.
I was grateful to the headphone jack on the camera’s underside, which meant that I could ask my daughter to use the headphone instead of listening to the music of the on-board game coming out of Kidizoom duo.
Photo and video files are small, but the internal 256MB memory of the camera is still filled soon, so a cheaper microSD card is a blessing. You will not need to go older – even a 32GB will easily store years images.
Images can be transferred by a now-known micro USB port in a computer-the cable is supplied with the camera.
To keep the cost low, the Kidizoom is powered by a duo aa battery. You will need four in all, two slots in the left grip and two to the right. You will need a mini screwdriver to open the inner door that helps to secure the battery in place.
A built-in lith-ion battery will be better, making the recharge very simple and sharp. However, if you have found a set of rechargeable AAS, it is not too upset to undergo a process.
VTECH Kidisom Duo FX: Performance
- Dual cameras; 8MP Front, 2MP Selfie
- Flash with 1-3 meter range
- 4X digital zoom
The quality of the image is, as you will expect from such a cheap camera, basic. The main front camera tops the photos in the JPEG format at 8MP, while the selfie camera is just 2MP.
When any underlying animated templates and filters are used, photo resolution is further reduced, while the video quality is even more basic on just 640p.
A soft lens and a small image sensor compound matters; The kidizoom struggles to keep expanding in high-contrast sun scenes, and low-light pictures are super noise. The expansion is soft, and 4X digital zoom only reduces image quality.
You get a picture, but I will not expect any better for money to be fair. In addition, Venus is, there is an underlying flash, which can give your subjects a slightly filled light, which has a range of up to 3 m. This flash is super accessory in dim conditions, especially indoors.
It is best to separate any expectation for the quality of the photo, and to focus more on creative equipment on the proposal, which is more likely to attach the young creative.
For example, Panorama, Vesi slide shows, animation makers, photo editor and voice recorder options, which add slightly extra to the creative arsenal where the camera alone comes down.
And doesn’t the child enjoy making themselves or family members in animated templates, of which the kidizoom pair is in Hukum?
Yes, any smartphone of today will take better pictures and perhaps provide more creative control. But for a device that you can safely leave alone with your child, fit the cheap kids duo bill. It is also an excellent value.

How I tested Vtech Kidizoom duo FX
- It is with our family for the best part of one year
- My daughters, both recommended users within age, have used it extensively
- We have taken a lot of photos and videos (and played games!)
This is a long -term review of an old camera that all my families have contributed.
We have eliminated the creative devices of Kidizoom Duo, including the cameras for photos and videos, both its various shoots, animated templates and audio recording.
And yes, we were very good in the original selection of sports.
